"THE squad numbers which will be worn by the Watford players during the 2016/17 Premier League season have now been confirmed and can be seen below. Among the changes, Nordin Amrabat has switched from 11 to seven, with Valon Behrami taking the Morocco international's number instead of eight, and goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon has moved from 18 to 30. Summer signing Isaac Success has been handed shirt number 10, while numbers have also been confirmed for fellow new recruits Abdoulaye Doucoure (16), Juan Camilo Zuniga (18), Jerome Sinclair (19), Brice Dja Djedje (26) and Christian Kabasele (27)." 1. Heurelho Gomes (GK) 2. Allan Nyom 3. Miguel Britos 4. Mario Suarez 5. Sebastian Prödl 7. Nordin Amrabat 9. Troy Deeney 10. Isaac Success 11. Valon Behrami 13. Rene Gilmartin (GK) 14. Juan Carlos Paredes 15. Craig Cathcart 16. Abdoulaye Doucoure 17. Adlene Guedioura 18. Juan Camilo Zuniga 19. Jerome Sinclair 20. Matej Vydra 21. Ikechi Anya 23. Ben Watson 24. Odion Ighalo 25. Jose Holebas 26. Brice Dja Djedje 27. Christian Kabasele 28. Sean Murray 29. Etienne Capoue 30. Costel Pantilimon (GK) 31. Tommie Hoban 34. Giedrius Arlauskis (GK) Note the key numbers 6,8, 12 not allocated.....
Apart from those 3 free numbers (6, 8, 12) you should also note that 3 more overseas players need to be dropped from that list as it is (the list has 20 overseas names on it). If you add 3 more expected to come in then 6 players from the above list have to go or play for the U23's this year. My guesses are: Arlouskis or Pantilimon Paredes Guedioura Then maybe, depending on who comes in & fitness/injuries: Nyom (if we get another CB) Suarez Vydra (hope not) That said, the rules on U21 are so confusing that I can't work out if Success and Kabasele don't count towards the 17 even though they are overseas players. If so, that's 2 extra spaces. Ok? Clear as mud!
U21 don´t count towards the foreign quota, I believe, no matter what the nationality. Interesting thing are the vacant numbers....signings to come, we hope....
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp....Hornets_defender_leaves_Premier_League_club/ One out, but wasn´t given a number as it was....
OK, the secret's out. I think they're holding one of those open for me - just waiting to see how the knee op goes this week. I can only assume the other is BB whose op was yesterday (hope that went well, BB ). I bagsee No. 8 shirt. Yes, we are over 100 between us, but if ol' Stanley M could do it, so can we, eh, BB?
I'll have to write to the club and let them know I'm no longer available andy - too early to tell, but I think I'm out for the season. Not handling the pain very well, still stuck in bed and the painkillers giving me nausea. On the bright side, the nurses are all very attractive and personable young ladies...
About to leave. I'm banking on there being an Anita Harris from 'Carry On, Doctor'. Hope the pain eases, BB. please log in to view this image
Our Squad assuming deals go through: 1. Heurelho Gomes (GK) 2. Allan Nyom 3. Miguel Britos 4. 5. Sebastian Prödl 6. Younes Kaboul 7. Nordin Amrabat 8. Roberto Pereyra 9. Troy Deeney 10. Isaac Success 11. Valon Behrami 12. Robert Kenedy 13. Rene Gilmartin (GK) 14. Juan Carlos Paredes 15. Craig Cathcart 16. Abdoulaye Doucoure 17. Adlene Guedioura 18. Juan Camilo Zuniga 19. Jerome Sinclair 20. Matej Vydra 21. Ikechi Anya 23. Ben Watson 24. Odion Ighalo 25. Jose Holebas 26. Brice Dja Djedje 27. Christian Kabasele 28. Sean Murray 29. Etienne Capoue 30. Costel Pantilimon (GK) 31. Tommie Hoban 34. Giedrius Arlauskis (GK) Assuming the deals in the pipeline go through this leaves us with 21 overseas players so 4 to leave by the end of the window: Arlauskis & Paredes are the only easy ones so 2 more not to make the Squad from: Nyom Vydra Guedioura Amrabat Doucoure
How old is Kenedy? Might he count as under 21....? Fecha de nacimiento: 8 de febrero de 1996 (edad 20), Santa Rita do Sapucaí, Minas Gerais, Brasil
AH! My bad! Hard decision, I am guessing Arlauskis & Paredes too for your reson exaclty. However, the rest is a very hard decision... Nyom, with Zuñiga in doesn´t look good for him... Vydra, would WM want to work with strikers that he bought in? Guedioura, has started games recently, Amrabat, as above but Granada are apparently interested. Doucoure, just been brought in... Who knows?! I guess Nyom and Amrabat (if the Granada rumour is true) If not then Vydra....
You even beat the slow journalists!! http://www.wdsport.co.uk/2016/08/tw...nder-threat-in-wake-of-double-transfer-swoop/ but they mention: ---The arrival of the Frenchman and Argentine increase the number of foreign players on the club’s books to 20. A maximum of 17 can be registered with the Premier League in a 25-man squad----- however, I am confused as your list looks allright to me! Somethings got to give, is it Success as under 21?
Yes apparently Success is U 21 so we just need to lose 3 players now plus one in one out thereafter for any other teansfer. That's why Kenedy would be good as he is also U21. Fantastic business today though. Shows real intent.
Yes I am having a relentlessly slow afternoon at work! So was wondering... Yeah, gone are the days of Iwelumo and Garner up top....come a long way really.... I´d cut Arlauskis, Paredes :& Nyom.
http://www.wdsport.co.uk/2016/08/nordin-amrabat-leaves-dja-djedje-sweating-over-his-spot/ New signing to miss out through injury? Would make sense...well, as in not to include an injured player....signing one is daft....
