I agree, but I wish I didn't. Too many of our fans seem to have forgotten that we've just been promoted. It doesn't matter how big a crowd we get, or how big we have been historically - we are a championship team that has just been promoted.

    Elliott

    Manquillo Lejeune Clark Dummett

    Hayden Merino

    Ritchie Shelvey Atsu

    Gayle

Whatever team/formation we end up with next weekend, there's still a few weeks of the transfer window left and I think there will still be 2-3 through the door.

Striker obviously a priority but I suspect the No 10 role might be left until Jan - potentially we could play (in no particular order) De Jong, Perez, Diame (God forbid), Shelvey, Ritchie or Murphy in that position

Outside of a striker, LB and one more quality CM for me

Some fans were beside themselves at a number of the Championship performances, when we were sat 1st or 2nd. When we rock up with 7 at the back at home to Everton and still get beat, what happens then? It's a fickle business and the management - in my opinion - should have done much more than they did. It's possible that the lads in the squad are better than WE think - in fact it would be amazing to see Jonjo controlling games, Ritchie banging them in, Gayle being Cole Mk2. But is it really very likely?

Agree - there are certain sections of our fan base that really do my head in.

I think (and I hope like hell I'm proved correct) that there are a number of our players who are set up to do far better in the Prem than the Championship - Perez, Hayden etc - so who knows?

Shelvey didn't really cut it last time, barring the odd game - but to be fair, he spent most of that time under McLaren's "expert" guidance - be fascinated to see how he does with a far better manager at the helm

Didn't Rafa immediately drop him last time?

We're in the bottom 5 from October to May lads., Enjoy it if we can and hope we're in the top two of the bottom 5 come May.

Yep - but to be fair to Shelvey, I think his confidence was rock bottom after dealing with McLaren.

He wasn't in good enough shape. Rafa told him to get fit over the summer which he did to his credit and he was even left out a bit at the start of the Championship campaign, which I assume was Rafa trying get a point across to him. Apparently Shelvey has worked on his fitness again this summer so I think he'll make an impact. He's got enough quality to influence games at that level.

All we need to do is beat Huddersfield and Brighton home and away and we are 33.3% of the way there. Simples.

Na mate unless we're challenging for the title, beating teams 6-0 and installing Terry McDermott as assistant Rafa can go hang!

Are you trying to upset me?

Genuinely cannot believe that Dummy, Missrovic, Elliot, Diame and Perez are starting the first game.
