The Scoring System: 5 points correct result 3 points exact scoreline 2 points correct Spurs goal tally 2 points for each Spurs goalscorer named 1 point deducted for failure to predict First prediction game Sunday 13th August 1.30pm NEWCASTLE v SPURS COYS
Away to a newly promoted side and we rarely seem to do well against Newcastle so I'm going to predict Toon 1-1 Spurs - Eriksen
As it is unlikely that we will make any new signings before 23:00 on the 31st August (why pay them a salary in the closed season, lets face it, if we had signed Neymar at the beginning of July,we'd have paid him 4 Million for doing absolutely nothing), lets go with: Geordies 1 Spurs 5 Kane x 3, Alli and Eriksen.
Out of interest, if a predictor predicted a score of 22-0, all players scoring twice, would a predictor get goalscorer points for every player to score? Newc 0 Spurs 2 (KWP, Harry (Kane)) In a Danny Rosesque debut fashion, KWP will score an absolute screamer from a half way line volley. Up to that point the game will be in the balance, maybe with a Newcastle edge. From then on, its all us, though it takes a trip in the box on Harry and his resultant penalty to put the game to bed. Eventually, he's substituted for Vincent and despite a few nice touches, the game as a scoring contest is over.
Of course if they scored but they may be own goals, people try this but it rarely pays off because you lose 5 points for correct scoreline unless it really was 22 nil
I'd advise taking a stiff drink before predicting Spurs results, especially in view of the close season shenanigans. But, in truth, it's 90% luck. So be lucky. It does strange things to you too. Having predicted Spurs to beat Utd 2-0 in May, I was cursing Rooney for scoring So take a stiff drink after predicting too.
