Good points raised here - This race looks like going to the wire with more than just a few usual suspects with their eye on the prize. A little tweaking may be necessary in the defence department I said once before; having Cahill in our defence is akin to sticking our chin out....sooner or later someone is going to connect, damn shame it has to be those blaggards Spuds.
Very sharp this morning, replace "football" with ****e and you're Bang on. I was referring to my stealth jinx.
I was reading a very telling stat that shows how Chelsea have lost to the big sides, including this superb young Spur side. It shows that, when it comes down to it and it really, really matters, this Chelsea side bottles it. I really do expect that 7 point gap to get eroded over the next few matches. It's time to reel this little fishy in, methinks.
Easy there HIAG. Some perspective would be nice. Spurs were good last night but Chelsea were poor. A force to be reckoned with? Not yet. Win the title and then you'll have something to crow about. Until then it's honours even on the bragging rights.
Hang on a mo...! A sensible Chelsea fan! Have I stumbled down the rabbit hole? This is the Chelsea board, right? Bodanki needs a few more like you on here, Super Bluey!
Just want to get some perspective on last night's game. As the stats suggest, we weren't hammered by any means, shots at goal, corners etc. What happened is that we lost 2-0 away to a very good Spurs team who took 2 of their chances. This was always a possibility, as I said on a few occasions leading up to the game. Our run was always going to come to an end and I'm glad it wasn't at say Burnley or Sunderland, no disrespect intended. That game was the hardest on paper for us imo, and so it turned out. We are not the finished article and Conte knows this, which is why he wants signings in the January window. We are still at the top and we are there to be shot at, as are any team at the top. We have been an an incredible run and are 5 points clear at the top of the league, a position that every other team would love to be in. So no more doom and gloom please. KTBFFH.
This. After last seasons **** show, if you'd told me we'd be 5 points clear at the top of the PL after 20 games I'd have taken your hand off!! Spurs are on a bit of a run, and Dell Alli looks a very good player, but they will drop points, Liverpool and Arsenal, as we have seen, will always drop points to smaller clubs, ditto with City and their ****ty defence. It's how we respond to this defeat that will give us an indication of our title credentials, the run was always going to come to a halt at some point. If we can get a point at Anfield and beat Arsenal, while not dropping points to the smaller clubs, we are well on our way. Will have to wait and see.
Exactly. We have some tough fixtures ahead but so does everyone else. Everyone will drop points. It's not the end of the world.
If we can keep pace at the moment we simply have to beat you at Anfield or it'll be all over, we'll be well up for that game.
I'm hoping that the home advantage will see us through. I don't think a loss for you means it's all over but it will for us.
Good point mate. Should be a cracker. A lot of it will come down to who drops least points against lesser teams imo.
