Also lots of "bubble & squeak" with baked beans the next day. I'm also quite partial to Heinz baked beans on toast.

Just an observation but dont most blokes get the misus to cook Xmas dinner, whilst having a quick liquid lunch down the local in the morn.

the blokes job is usually the washing up...or am i still living in the 80's ?

I've been a Chef all my working life & I've never seen such in depth analysis on sprouts!! Saute shallots, pancetta, roasted chopped chestnuts, garlic, thyme & sage with plenty of butter. Add cooked sprouts & season to taste.

Best thing to to with sprouts is par boil them, transfer to a pan with extra virgin olive oil and sea salt, flash fry and transfer to an oven dish placed with aubergines, toasted almonds and sprinkle the top with mixture of fresh parmesan cheese mixed with breadcrumbs. Bake in a moderate oven for 30 minutes and the TIP THE FECKIN MESS INTO THE BIN BECAUSE NOTHING YOU CAN EVER DO WILL MAKE SPROUTS TASTE ANY GOOD!!!!!!

Grove, I sense a deepseated trauma within your post. Were you savaged by a sprout as a child?

How on earth do you put up with the match day catering if you are a professional? Any chance of opening up a little bistro in the Ellerslie?

Sounds very nice, you lucky man
It's nice to read how people's great events are panning out and it helps the rest of us embrace the festive cheer

I have too days of hell at my ladies parents you are veggies .. The whole family are tree huggers, knit your own yoghurt types . Best I can hope for is a m&s chicken meal for one. After that I have to work all ****ing Xmas on a new Homebase livery change for the insurance sector. I also have to work all of Xmas eve now
The first chance I get after this lot is too up my favourite boiled swan on creamed corn.
I can't keep my latest Saab on the road with the torque steer and I have to go to appending school tomorrow afternoon

Bollocks I love scallops should be down in Meze eating them myself what went wrong

That aside I wish you all a wonderful foody Xmas xxx

Good on ya, much prefer game birds(insert joke)then turkey myself. If you can find it, Clonakilty pudding is the best money can buy IMO.
