I saw a preview on ESPN I think, and they reckon that the extra size of the pitch, especially the width, will help Hazard/Pedro/Willian/ Moses etc by drawing out the Hammers defenders and leaving space inside.
Wouldn't it be great to be an expert and know in advance how the games' going to play out?? Seems to me the Hammers will have exactly the same opportunities as we do !!!!!

My Spud son in law agrees with you. And it's hard to argue. Poch has done a terrific job with a top first 11 and a thin bench. If Levy lets some moths out of his wallet and theres still a few quid inside, two or three good additions would help hugely. I like the way you play your talent by the time they're 20. We send ours elsewhere and they don't usually get a run until 22 or 23. If you can keep Kane and Ali, things look very promising for Spuds .

Good goal by Hazard but it should be more.

Well the experts were right about our first goal, heaps of room, no defenders inside. Brilliantly taken by Hazard, brilliant pass by Pedro, and a sublime first pass by Kante?? Just a creamy smooth goal.
Don't like Fabregas so far in this match, and Costa is playing really poorly. The man has zero ball control, and loses the ball every time in the area.
Would like to see Matic for Fabregas, but having no one to step in for Costa is a worry.
Still, we are on top now after a slow start, but one goal is never enough. Time for Costa to earn his wages.

I'll take some of the credit, cause, as usual, soon as I criticise a player he scores !!!!!
Thank Christ he did, because West Ham never stopped trying !!

Disappointed with letting a goal slip but a workman like result although we didn't play exceptionally well.

Wanted to storm out of work early to see the 2nd half. But I didn't want to tempt.
took one for the team tbh.

just got back from work and saw the extended highlights. what I saw..
How Costa didn't get a hatrick is beyond me.
Hazard loves playing the game again.
    Pedro is phenomenal.
Kante is like Messi in his DM position, peerless. he could have carried Mikel let alone Cescy.
Cescy was at fault for the goal. Awful awful engine.
Thibo did care about his cleansheet. Kudos.
    Others as usual.

just saw an interview on ESPN.
Conte's family is not living with him and they are back in Italy.
He said that is difficult & trying to bring them up to England. Not sure what impact that is going to have :(

Covered more ground than anyone last night, even Kante. That doesn't tell the whole story of course but you can't criticise his work rate.

His work rate is never in question. It's just that he's so slow, any sort of jog past him and thats it, they are past him. That is why you cannot have him anchoring a position as you think hes there defensively but actually hes not as any speed will just get away from him

Maybe but I don't think you need 2 defensive midfielders every game. I'm all for rotating Matic and Fab depending on the opponent. It's worked the last few weeks. Fabregas is also turning into a very good impact player as well off the bench.

oh sure. I don't mind Fabregas in the middle when we need to be creative. I thought we should have had him far sooner for Burnley. I just meant, even if he works hard, he's useless defensively and working hard does not necessarily equate to being solid

I know you would be bring that.
Stats mean nothing. Cescy did 0.3 km more than Kante.

But Cescy walks across the park.
Kante Sprints across the park. Huge difference <ok>

BTW - every match Cescy starts he covers (walks) most distance. That doesn't mean he has terrific engine.

You simply don't get the most distance covered stat by walking all game. You do talk nonsense sometimes.

Be nice if you stopped being so bloody negative all the time. Top of the league by 10 points and in the fa cup quarters. Not too shabby yet you spend most of your energies moaning about the players that helped get us there like Alonso, Cahill and Cesc.

    moaning <doh>??
    ever heard of "constructive criticism"??

two best teams this season by points have two best tackling Midfielders - Kante & Wanyama.
Very point I made all of last season.

on same vein I reiterate our frailties, so that we get better.
Our weakest links Cahill, Cescy & Alonso. I won't shun away <ok>

P.S Cescy cannot beat my dead granny in sprint - FAKT.
