Cardiff in 2003 was a great day. Not the result we were hoping for, but 3 generations of my family enjoyed a fantastic day out.
I went to Sparsholt College that particular day to see a live broadcast of Gardeners' Question Time before the heavens opened. On my drive back to Fareham, I listened to the commentary on the radio.
Each to their own Ides. You missed a fantastic occasion, one of those days that comes along quite rarely in the lives of most football supporters. But hey, you're obviously a keen gardener...
I'll give the next cup tie a miss....coach break down to Cardiff with a return home at going on for three in the morning, then lost my coach at Wembley and had to get a hitch home. As I feel doomed, I'll be safer on my sofa.
I bet he's pinching himself, not quite understanding his recent rise to fame! This time last year he was getting murdered on here & in the stands for just being picked for the 1st team !
He's deserved it really. Maya is very quickly becoming one of my favourite players and while he isn't the most gifted guy in the squad, he certainly plays consistently well. Doesn't cause a fuss, doesn't complain, just gets on with his job. Other players, naming no egotistical Portuguese centre-backs, could learn from him.
So funny the praise Yoshida is getting. You guys all realise that if a big side came in for him he would be off too! Only reason Fonte stayed when everyone else left was because no one else wanted him! It wasn't as if he was rejecting United or Liverpool due to his undying loyalty to saints. All the same players today unfortunately. But I suppose we must enjoy them whilst they are here.
I wouldn't consider myself a 'boo boy', and I respect Yoshida, but to have him as first choice seems crazy to me. He has so many calamitous moments. Hooefully he can keep improving with regular game time.
Every single one of them either when he was cold into the team or being played at RB. I've been banging that drum for a long time so I've been looking out for breaks in that pattern since I started. If he's on a second (or more) consecutive start at CB he's far from calamitous. Vin
I can see us losing this one, just think our slow possession game will play right into their hands, hope I'm wrong Can see us having around 70% posession and passing it around on the edge of their box. For them to score one of their only chances. Just haven't got any luck have we
I am actually confident for this one. 80% possession, 25 shots on target, 99 off target. We'll thrash them 1-0
