Good result. Worked hard and 'professionally' for it. They did well. I don't know where our flooded midfield was for all those last minute attacks the Saints mounted.

You were worth more than a point and certainly exploited our new formation in the second half. I think it frustrated you first half, but it fell apart second. Austin on earlier for Long would've made the difference I reckon.

Just crossing the border from Herts to Bucks on way home. Thoroughly entertained. Might have nicked a second but no complaints from me. Sterling effort to get the point. Off the mark. Excellent.

 

One of the pundits on BBC thought Watson's straight red was a bit harsh as there was another defender that would have intercepted!

 

There is that train of thought. Not watched it back, probably til the morning, but my overriding impression was that although the other defender was around he was too far away to deny the opportunity. No complaints from even the most rabid of Hornets in the crowd, "one for the team" was the overwhelming consensus.

 

Red card harsh?

Cynical maybe but covering players and some way out?

 

I'm with Fez on that but you guys who went would have a better idea. One for the team and possibly earned us a point. We have midfield depth so, cynical as this is, it was the best option, I think.

You're very kind. I didn't think Amrabat would've been able to cut off Long, but whether Long would've finished is another matter. Why was he preferred to Austin? I didn't understand that. Was Austin not 90min fit? I do defer to you guys who went, btw, the red is just an opinion from watching it on the telly.
I thought MotD didn't reflect the first half very well. Our formation seemed to frustrate and confuse you in the first half - then us in the second! Obviously we wanted a point but I don't think we could've argued losing that game on balance. Austin would've had us beaten I think.
