I agree, I'm saying I think they're worse. The Hull owners were bailed out by Steve Bruce last year and then when they pushed him too far they almost lucked out this year again. The way they have run that club is a recipe for disaster though, I can't see anyone wanting to go there.

The one certain thing is that whoever I want, they will turn out to be ****. I thought Martin O'Neil was a great choice when he came to us. I wanted Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. When Bob Bradley was punting himself for the job with us, I thought "that's a bit left field, but I bet he'd do well". I was against the idea of appointing Sam. So, whoever I decide is best choice (and I don't know who that is yet, although I know many of those names I don't want), just hope we don't get them.

Getting SKP in may not be the right choice but would probably shift at least 5000 season tkts. That would appeal to Ellis as opposed to a good structured long term plan.

I think that we ought to look at Neil and Rich - they run my lads U/11s side and can`t be any worse than Moyes and they`ll probably only need petrol money.

SkyBet's current odds on the new manager, here's a selection of top choices

66/1 Titus Bramble - maybe just get him in as a defensive coach?
40/1 Lee Catermole - The whole team will be forced to wear their shorts high enough to cover their nipples
25/1 Steve McClaren - Best Manager in the world
25/1 John O'Shea - Luck of the Irish, would be a top top choice in my opinion.
20/1 Phil Neville - Entertaining fella, would definitely enthuse and get the players up for games!
12/1 Alan "lad" Pardew - knows everyone in the game, ladies love him, men want to be him, just an all round top geezer!
6/1 - Kevin Phillips - no managerial experience, but got a D+ in GSCE maths

I've collated the Crème de la Crème, I can't wait to see whose appointed to take you on your next adventure!!

Also done a bit of scouting for you, There's this top Chinese talent called Lee Gwon, maybe you should sign him

This would be great but unlikely in my opinion. They would want a transfer kitty that we simply don't have. I'm expecting parachute money and player sales money to go to repay debt and cover operating losses next season

I think we will go for McInnes who can work on a shoe string. I think Walter Smith will push him forward

Pearson is on Boro shortlist so if Sunderland really want him then get a move on.

Can see Pearson going to Boro. He's got connections there and they seem a steadier ship than us at the minute under Steve Gibson's leadership.

With the talk of Bain consulting Moyes and Walter Smith I've got a feeling they are going to mess this appointment up spectacularly.

Short need to appoint a proper football man as chairman to run the club

It is a bit worrying isn't it. Mind you, you'd have thought Ferguson would have tipped a decent successor and look how that turned out.

It doesn't seem like a difficult process to me. See who is available and who will be able to handle Championship football on a budget. If Boro get Pearson while we're uhming and ahing about it then I'll be pissed off.

I agree with JD. If it's true that Smith and Moyes are lining up the next manager then that will be Derek McInnes.

He's already failed in the championship once.
