Spurs fans song at Palace last night - "John Terry, your Mum's a brass Give her a quid and she'll lick your arse"
Strange press conference for the boxing yesterday. Seems like Wlad knows this is his swansong. Definitely wouldn't have convinced anyone who hasn't ordered it to do so.
The only reason I see it going longer than 5 rounds is I expect the opening 2-3 to be overly tentative. I'll put a modest amount on Klitch, but that's purely in search of "value". Think my largest stake will be on Joshua between 7-9.
I don't know much about boxing but the experts claim Joshua will be too fast and have too much hand speed. I read that being hit by one of his shots is the equivalent of taking a blow from an 11lb sledgehammer travelling at 30mph. Let's hope it's not one fight too many for Vlad.
It would be something of a risk of AJ goes power vs power. Fury showed with his footwork how you could pick Wlad apart - if AJ gives it two rounds to see what sort of shape WK is in then start to box his natural game I think he'll go on to win. Different breed of opponent then he's used to. He'll make a mistake or two and Wlad could punish that. I think I'm trying to make it more of a spectacle than it probably will be
Good to see marine Al Blackman has finally been released from prison this morning. A national hero and long overdue.
Wlad in the build up to this fight is the complete opposite to the build up in the Fury fight. Looks relaxed and very confident. Value wise, I'm on Wlad. Longer the fight goes on, the more confident I'll be. Takes it past 8/9 Wlad to win on points Then again, I won't be surprised if AJ blows him away inside 5 rounds.
I think there is an air of acceptance from Klitch. Seems to know this is his last fight and wants to enjoy the whole experience. That or he's being very shrewd and forcing Aj in to a false sense of security.
I see the 27 European nations will be demanding guarantees regarding the europeans working in the UK post Brexit. Apart from tarifs which will be added to UK products sold in Europe, and the consequent job losses, what exactly has been gained by this vote?
Nothing has been agreed yet Ken.... when negotiations begin each side will make unreasonable demands so they can compromise on what they actually want
Poland would surely be better off encouraging their 860,000 citizen currently living in the U.K. to return home? It doesn't say much about the ex Soviet banana republic that so many of its citizens feel the need to leave there and come here. British jobs for British young workers !
So how will it Strengthen Her Hand when she goes back with a bigger majority? I don't get it! What will actually change?
It will force the House of Lords to fall into line. The message from the Election will have been explicit - vote Lib Dem if you want a 2nd referendum, but if you want a hard, dirty Brexit vote Blue. With a 80-100 majority the Lords would have no choice but to comply else face oblivion, particularly as there are 100 Lib Dem peers including Paddy Pantsdown who had previously threatened to block it. Lots of traditional Conservatives like me have always argued to leave the old boys in their rest home alone to enjoy their dotage - that viewpoint will change after 8 June if they start messing us about again.
She did not have a mandate to negotiate with the EU (previously) and struggled to get the legislation through Parliament, but with a 100 + majority in the Commons both she and the EU Negotiators will know that what she says will get through the Lower House .... she will also appoint a number of new Tory Lords to regain power in that House
