Great win for the blue few today, taking a leaf out of our book and scoring 4 goals away from home <whistle>

Pompey seem to be hitting form just at the right time and I'm sure they will want to avoid the play offs this time round... will it be 4th time lucky for them?

In a great position now with their next few games to put a marker down and then go on to seal promotion. I'm sure some of the fans are getting giddy at the thought of being one division closer to their more illustrious neighbours :bandit:

Cheers Liebherr ! It certainly would be nice to get nearer to the mighty Brighton - what a season they are having :emoticon-0105-wink: :)

    <laugh>

Don't think you'll be getting closer to them, they'll go up this year imo. They could pull away from you just like lil old bournemouth did though ;)

If all three of you could hang on for a few years, us and Reading could join you. Just imagine, five Southern teams in the same division :emoticon-0110-tongu

Better hope that this thread doesn't spawn many sequels Woops...unless it is not referring to Div 4!

One for the Pub Quiz memory bank.

Plymouth is the largest city in England that has never had its football team in the top division.

Seriously, this is actually what I want to see happening. Plymouth and Exeter could join in too. Perhaps even Swindon and a Bristol club or two. Not to forget Yeovil. Get some of those London and Northern clubs out of the PL. I don't care who. ;)

Actually, yes I do, but the likelihood of Arsenal, Liverpool, ManU, and one or two others leaving the PL for an extended period is unlikely. Arsenal would probably just get themselves invited back anyway, just like the last time they were relegated.

    No match thread?

I see you lot had a good win at home to Newport today, bounced back from a poor result last and I believe makes it back to back home wins now if I have it correct?

Keep your home form up and you should get across the line now... 6 points clear... 7 games to go. Squeaky bum time!!

I remember seeing Pompey in this division in 79-80 and it was Millwall that the fans were looking forward to meeting.

Another decent home win for the blue few, and with Stevenage taking a battering it seems nothing can stop them in their march ( <whistle> ) towards promotion.

Looks as though another 2 wins will be enough. Surely they're not going to bottle it now?

Yeah that is a bit strange.

Maybe he'll make a new account and madly invade our board once it's confirmed <laugh>

He better be back by August anyway, we need another 'scummers going down' thread as they bring so much luck <yikes>

    And it's confirmed!

Bet that's a huge relief for you to be out of the basement ;)

    Congratulations and fully deserved.

    I'll be back with a part 2...

... in 2018/19 after you go straight back down <whistle>

In seriousness though, promotion is a great feeling no matter what the division, enjoy the celebrations lads <ok> <ale>

Yep, well done Pompey, with a new investor potentially on board, we might see a proper South Coast derby in a few years...

Well done Pompey and a special thank you to Jamal Lowe for scoring the two goals that sealed promotion. I feel this guy is going to have a big future in League football, and hopefully that will be PFC as the climb back up the Leagues continues.
