It would appear to be more about money than ambition, thought he was destined for better than Watford.
As I said earlier in the post, it must only be is in Hull that have believed the hype around him. For him to end up at Watford shows he isn't as highly rated as we thought, if they get relegated next season that's 2 relegations on his cv. He should have stayed here and if we were top 2 by Xmas he'd have walked into a better job
I think his agent has a lot to do with it, let's face it Watford have got a squad that's much worse than Palace's so they'll probably be after more players = £££ for the agent.
Hardly going to turn round and say he's **** at they? Compare him to Michael Turner when he was getting talked about as a possibility for England, he just never seemed to make a mistake. Don't get me wrong, he's been one of our best players this season but nowhere near the level some like to believe he's at, ie England/ Champions League team
I'll bet some of our players will now be Watford bound, unless our Chairman had the foresight to put restrictions on Silva buying our players?
You can't do that mate. I expect Evandro to go with him. Good if we can get more than we paid for him.
All this bashing of Watford is embarrassing. Watford are a PL club which makes then a big deal compared to us or any other Championship club.
cannot see how we can stop him trying, Silva was a free agent when he signed for Watford, just hope we either get a good price or tell watford to go do one.
Does anyone consider Marco to have done a runner while Rafa did the honourable thing? Or has Marco displayed more mature acumen and guile in the ephemeral world of career survival?
Ambition doesn't exist in football anymore. It's money, money, money "Then" more money. If along the way you pick up a medal so be it. There's nobody that could convince me otherwise.
In a way leaving us is an easy way out, it clearly is money & ambition from Silva.. but choosing a club that sacks more managers than squirrels get through nuts in a season.. the guy clearly doesn't mind 'short term'.. compared to Wenger's long-term realationship, our Marco is a one-night stand artist!!
Can we please stop changing history and cease with this idea that 'Rafa did the honourable thing'. He did not commit himself to The Jawdies when they got relegated, on the contrary he touted himself for every ****ing job going straight after the end of the season. It was only when none were forthcoming that he agreed to stay.
He committed to Newcastle within 10 days of Newcastle's final fixture. You're not keen on Rafa are you? Just say so, no need to rewrite history.
We might have Silva wanting to come back when he gets sacked at the end of the season for not getting them in the Champions League And you know what...he can **** offf
When were Newcastle confirmed as relegated? He was asked every single day after that to confirm if he was staying, including the final press conference of the season, but he didn't while he waited for the offers to come in. FACT.
