Monk is doing ok , the turning point for him was the blackburn game which leeds won from then on monk got the players playing and knowing what their job was , a few managers have similar records such as ALEX FERGUSON he almost was sacked as man utd manager and was 1 match away from it , that was the turning point for him , monk is definately the best manager leeds have had for 6 years , im just hoping leeds can finish this season in the top 2 and dont miss out in the play offs after all the hard work .
Still can't decide if you have a bad eye or a dodgy haircut. Doesn't matter, either way you make me smile
think all leeds fans are smiling now that some pride has been restored in the teams play ! to be honest as long as the key players keep free from injury or suspension i CANNOT see any team in the championship stopping leeds utd ! and think we will finish in the top 2
my support for Monk was based on his fantastic full season at Swansea that got them to an unprecedented 8th place ... that team was the only one worth watching, this minnow taking on the ibg boys with an unproven young English manager consistently steering them to improbable results playing quality football I was also impressed that after he got sacked he decided to go and learn some more rather than jump into his next job, clearly feeling that he allowed something to go wrong at Swansea he visited top clubs, looked at the way they prepared and trained, met with their coaches and discussed ideas, constantly improving his knowledge ... his last trip was to spend time at Sevilla, just before taking the Leeds job ... Monk felt he was ready to take on what is probably the biggest challenge in the English game he set out his pre-season, and he was ridiculed for spending too much time on the training ground and not playing enough friendlies ... Monk responded by saying that those clubs who loaded pre-season with games would start to feel it in their legs by Christmas, but Leeds would only be starting to fly physically (another reason to believe that he understood what he was doing) ... he was right, because his team plays at full tilt right to the final whistle, and the number of late goals are not a fluke the biggest thing for me early on was the strong unity being shown by the squad .. even when the going got tough, no player broke ranks to moan or complain, instead all we heard were positive comments and a belief in the manager and his ideas .. most of us agreed that the best time to judge Monk would be December as a minimum, but that a full season was needed for him to show his potential no, I am not going to say "I told you so", because that is just classless ... we can be very pleased with the way Monk is dragging this club back to its feet, and very proud of the way our players are fighting for every point available ... Elland Road is once again becoming a stadium that scares the bejesus out of opponents, and the vibe is positive and together ... Monk has everyone believing, everyone pitching in and as they say, the results are the proof ON ON ON!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
And I thought he said he knows how to prepare a team in preseason that would get off to a flying start
"The second half today was purely physical, it was nothing tactical or technical at all. We weren’t at the same level as the other team but that’s due to the number of games they’ve had and the number we’ve had. I’m experienced in this and I know how to peak a team. We’re peaking for the first day of the season, not for pre-season." http://www.90min.com/posts/3523011-...-team-progress-despite-defeat-to-peterborough
didn't say anything about a flying start, just about physical fitness .. fcuk me, just give it a rest Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
