Didn't play a lot but the Port Vale fan at work said he liked the look of him when he got a chance. A Michael Brown team in a relegation battle isn't an ideal place to send him. Hopes he gets a chance next season but I reckon he'll be gone again. We've seen he can do it.
I think it was just about the worst team he could have gone to. It sounds more like he wasn't given a chance than he was rubbish when he did.
He deserves a chance with us quite frankly. He's got ability, and was worth persevering with. A bright spot in an otherwise forgettable Hasselbaink reign
I think we have to accept the reality is that our young players are a long way off what is needed in the Championship, our youth teams' results have been less than impressive and we are still trying to catch up after more than a decade of neglect. If we tried to bring in our youngsters we'd end up like Rotherham...
The Development side ended the season with a bang though. Its possible one or two could make the grade but they need to get games for us playing in a team surrounded by experienced and quality Championship players, not just other promising lower league players also taking a big step up. For me it is why one way or the other we need to invest in some experience / quality just to survive another season in the Championship.
It's a fair point, and you do need that blend between experience and youth in this division. I think with Furlong, Manning and Shodipo we've got 3 lads who should be in that first team squad week in week out.
