In this example, Sky Sports are holding th gun, not Spurs. Unless they are suggesting we told them today?
Rumours Spurs legend Chris Hughton is ready to replace Tim in the summer with a little rest in between. Happy to work alongside Teflon Dan, and DOF.
It's a "Sky source". Either we have a twat who can't keep his gob shut at our club or, just as likely, someone's taken a punt in "confirming" what everyone assumes to be true and telling Sky even if they don't have anymore info than anyone else. "Sky sources" are wrong all the time and it's no coincidence that the news is happening to break on the day of a match for us, Sky are as reliable as any tabloid for news like this. Not surprised at all that we may have already made our choice to sack him. AVB was sacked for having us 6 points off the top 4 and getting battered by the top teams, under Sherwood the same has happened and he's managed to get us knocked out of all 3 trophies, winning 1 cup match in 6. He was never going to keep his job. I do feel sorry for him though, it's been a difficult situation for him with everyone knowing he was likely only going to be a temporary choice.
You jest (i think), but wasn't there something somewhere about LVG wanting a "Spurs man" on his team if he came in?
"Sky sources" are usually correct when they're talking about matters like this. Sounds like someone either very close to, or the man himself, has blabbed and I doubt the timing is anything other than to get maximum exposure, given you're the live game tonight.
or it's just bull**** speculation, it's pretty f**king obvious (without the need for "inside sources") that Sherwood will not be your manager next season
They have a history of jumping the gun, confirming transfers through their "sources" only for the deal to fall apart. Even if the deals do go through it doesn't mean the sources are right either. I could have told you last week that Sherwood will be gone at the end of the season, if it does happen it doesn't prove that I'm right because the fact is I don't have any special info, I'm just taking the strong speculation and saying "it's done". It sounds like nothing. He was given an 18 month contract which suggests that he's not a long term manager and he hasn't turned around the form that got the last manager sacked so where's your certainty that this is coming from someone close to Sherwood? Sherwood was speaking about his future on friday and dismissing the speculation as nothing he could ever do about it, I doubt Levy's decided to tell him he's sacked at the end of the season over the weekend. Sherwood himself said that Levy hasn't spoken to him about his future so why would he suddenly change his mind? I don't see it, if there is indeed a proper source from the club then it's likely from the boardroom, there was a board member a couple of years ago who got a telling off for blabbing. This brings me to another point, not once have Sky said "sources at the club/ close to the manager" as far as I'm aware, it's just a general "Sky sources tell us".
Jamie Redknapp has wasted no time in displaying the chip on his shoulder, laying into Levy and the club for all sorts of nonsense that isn't true. They'd get less bias interviewing Piskey
