Thy could drop Big Mo a bit deeper for a few games before ACON if they want to rotate and not overuse plays. I'm just worried this will lead to a run of games for Tiote who looks absolute pap
Dang! So Colback better sort his funny eye out sharpish, or there's gonna be a major midfileld problem now. At least there's some "easier" games when he's out - Blackburn and Forest shouldn't cause too many problems, but Wednesday and Brentford may be tricky.
Apparently he is appealing it so sanctions don't kick until appeal is done. Looks like we are trying to drag it out until we have secured promotion.
Everyone has the right to appeal so I'll await the club's decision on that front. IF the evidence is clear and the appeal is thrown out/doesn't happen then he deserves which is thrown at him, plain and simple. No arguments.
If he's guilty he deserves it and we'll just have to make do without. Question for me is SHOULD he appeal it? Can you get an extended ban for a frivolous appeal? If he appeals he will play on boxing day vs Sheffield but miss Nottingham, Blackburn and Birmingham in the cup plus 2 games against Brentford and Rotherham in January after Diame, Tiote, Atsu and Lazaar are all off at the ACON. (All leave after the Birmingham Cup game on the 7th.) Colback, Anita and Hayden are the only cover we have for CM, unless you want to move players out of position or include Tiote.
Is Shelvey Racist? He trains, plays and communicates with players from all over the world everyday and is managed by a Spanish manager, did he make a throwaway comment, supposedly? but how is this being built up as such a bad thing? how many times do opposing players and fans make fun of his bald head? for me this is a bit of a joke, you can call someone fat, lazy or something ive commonly come across recently on twitter are racist comments against white people, but as soon as it lands a certain way, it becomes a big thing, the fact that this incident took months before it came out and it being rumoured that it wasn't even the effected player that reported it, shows you how much of a joke this is.
The rule they have found him guilty on allows for his comment to be something relating to nationality too.
Twitter is saying that Shelvey supposedly said the words "cous cous nonce" Anyone care to enlighten me?
I haven't the slightest idea what that means? If it is in reference to African food then I'm a racist if I call Obi a fat Big Mac scoffing bastard then I guess.
Heard from a club source that Shelvey's exact words were: "Speak English you ****ing prick." If that is true then the world has gone even more PC crazy.
I've said that to some of my Scottish friends for ages and there's not a drop of racism there. It's ****ed up if he is being done for that. Abusive language... maybe.... but everyone says **** like that on the pitch. Remember Rooney being lip read calling a ref a '****ing ****'?
Apparently the guy he is alleged to have abused did not speak English or understand it. Shelvey told him to speak English and a team mate overheard and reported it.
