Did we play a flat back four then? I presumed that, as it was the same side as the Reading game, we had played 3-5-2 like we did then?
Flat back 4 today with Bidwell back to taking throw ins - Lynch was taking them down the left against Reading to allow Bidwell to push on. However, the idea is that wing backs can take on and beat opposition players. Bidwell can't or won't - I'm not sure which
I'm sure you're probably right if you watched the game. However, the Official site says it was 3-5-2.
It could've been what was intended but Wednesday clearly attacked down our flanks a lot so maybe this is why Bidwell in particular today played more like a LB We did seem very susceptible to balls over the top of our centre backs today, and Ned in particular was caught out a couple of times watching as it dropped beyond him Wednesday had a couple of really good opportunities in the first half - one a header that was put straight into Smithies arms and the other a horribly miss-cued shot well wide I hope that the defence is a little more solid in our match against the budgies
Didn't see today's game, but when we play with 3 CBs and Wszolek and Bidwell as wing-backs it can look like a lopsided back four because Wszolek is a natural winger and Bidwell is a natural full-back.
I thought the Commentators on the Official said we started in 3 5 2 but that at the start of the 2nd half we'd gone to 4 4 2. Hard to see it well on their stream.
Personally wd drop onuha mistake against reading nearly cost a goal mistake yesterday cost us a goal! Least he's consistent I suppose!
For a few fleeting moments yesterday, we were top and that other lot were bottom..... please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
