In any sane world the FA have to see the video as evidence of what it was - a deliberate elbow thrown into an opponent. Aguero has to be banned for 3 games, the same penalty as given to Fellani
You have to remember that the QC that has been paid by the FA to review the evidence must show his value by reviewing the 100 clips from all possible angles and ariel views. As well as speak to all the fans that witnessed the incident and also talk to their family members. This is a serious investigation, Fodder.
Won't it be a 4 game ban now that he's contested it? Why did United never contest Felliiiiini's charge?
We are in the middle of an international break then the players will be spending time travelling back to their clubs, what's the betting that a personal hearing can't be scheduled until after the derby
Probably. Don't mind. If we won it or even drew against an Agueroless City their fans would just have a collective
No, only if he appeals it IIRC. Pretty sure we did contest Fellaini's charge - makes no odds though, 99% of the time the FA ignore any contest and judge the player guilty. Wonder if City will be the 1%...
Probably watched it back and thought Fellani was lucky only to get 3 matches - that Huth also got 3 matches for pulling hair was a pisstake. I do find it funny that Huth has such a big chin, the elbow didn't faze him at all, it was the smack around the eye.
Yeah because you would never expect anyone in a high octane situation to react if you yanked their head back by the hair You do that to 95% of men and they will react exactly the same way as Fellaini, the rest are pussies who will fall to the ground screaming.
Not saying that it wasn't deserving of a punishment - but pulling someone's hair is considered the same as an elbow followed by a smack? Oh well, doesn't matter now.
Not saying they are worth the same punishment as separate incidents, just that in this case one was largely mitigated by the other. As you say it's done now, we will have plenty of other stuff to discuss/moan about this season
I'm sure I read somewhere that F'Kun Elbow Aguera didn't travel to play for Argentina because of injury - so no reason for the FA to have an difficulty in getting hold of him.
City done a service. If they lose, they were under strength. If they win, they beat United away with a weakened side. Win-win
