Our long Two week search for a new manager is offically over tonight as Former Watford Boss Sean Dyche becomes Burnleys 4th Manager in the last 5 years, Taking over from Eddie Howe who left to go back to Bournemouth,He has signed a Two and a Half Year contract at Turf Moor, And his first game in charge will be the Clarets home clash against Wolves on Saturday. A statment from Burnleys joint chairmen John Banaszkiewicz and Mike Garlick on welcoming SD it reads.... "Sean was the outstanding candidate following an extensive and structured interviewing process to find the right manager to fit in with our vision for the club. "He is a natural leader with real presence who did a marvellous job at Watford last season. "His commitment to a very strong and successful youth system was clear at a club with close parallels to our own. Sean is especially keen to develop stronger links between Burnley Football Club and the local community. "These attributes, complemented by a fantastic ability to maximize resources in taking Watford to their highest position since relegation from the Premier League in 2008, make us confident Sean is the right man to take this club forward." I must admit a few days ago i would have been against it but having looked his stats and spoken to Watford fans on here about SD the feedback was positive. So im gonna give him a shot. His first task is to sort out our back line which has only kept Two clean sheets all season (against Bolton and Blackpool) and also he needs to keep hold of of our record breaking goal machine Charlie Austin during January. If he can do that we have a great chance of maybe ending up in the Play off mix in May.
You boys have got yourselves a good loyal no nonsense manager He will do well , wish we could gave kept him but he wasnt glam enough for the pozzos. He will get a great reception at vicarage road.
Malky wanted to bring him to Cardiff as part of his team but the Watford owners at that time decided he would do a good job for them - as he did until the ownership changed. As Norway H says he will do well at Burnley.
Hes doing fine at the moment Burnleys play looks a lot better, though we had no luck on things like Poor refereeing calls (Which have cost us 15 points and ended our FA Cup intrests rather cruely) his real test will come this month can he keep Austin at the club if we can who knows? But once he starts moulding his own side i will judge him then, dont forget its Still the squad that the prevoius manager Howe built. But Dyche is doing a fine job so far.
