    So what do we do about the defence tonight? Leaking goals and have our best 2 defenders in reserve - question is, does Slade have the minerals to throw them both in? I have a feeling he keeps the same team.

    If we spent the Pearce money on a competent CM we would be top 3.

    Will he take a leaf out of pardew's book and play his strongest team from now on, even if it means dropping Pearce and Ajose? Only going by reports, I haven't been yet this season.

    This has defeat written all over it. A bit like that midweek trip to Leeds two years back when Reza got a winner and Hamer saved a penalty. We have the players to win but are way off form. Scunthorpe are on a roll. Charlton can sometimes pull a surprise, but for me this has 3-0 defeat writ large

    Shocking, dire midfield tonight:

    Jackson, Crofts, Foley, Ulverstad

    FFS <doh>
    <doh>
    Konsa out for Bauer, and Ajose out for ?

    He is going to be right under the cosh if it doesn't.

    I cannot understand what Slade is thinking of - has he been at our first 7 games?

    That midfield line up will struggle to get the ball into their half tonight, let alone create a chance <grr>

    Crazy. I can't make sense of it, and he had better hope they go against the form book and help with a win. No creativity what so ever

    Hoping to park the bus and grab a goal on the breakaway? Pretty embarrassing if so.

    Scunthorpe are easily the best team we've played so far. We've been OK. Unsurprisingly a team with a geriatric midfield isn't that creative.

    I've been really impressed by Lookman and Ulvstead so far, Ulvstead can actually surge forward and attack with the ball, his passing is good too.

    We needed Jackson and Crofts in the first half though we were defending fairly desperately at times. Lookman has been quality today, he receives a **** ball and manages to glide past a player and do something with it.
