    i know he divides opinions - but he's my favourite all time player.

    Went on to win individual awards such as writers award and England POTY in 2011. Even captained England.

    Echo those thoughts. Never really understood why you can blame him for trebling your wages and going to a bigger club. We all hate to admit it but we are a selling club.

    He could have handled it better but his agent got inside his head after the birth of his kid. He played his heart out every game though - remember a great story about the players having to help him out of the bath because his muscles seized up so much after a game.

    Thought he gave his all when wearing the shirt, but knew he wasn't long for the club when he bought THAT car before his proposed move to Spurs fell through.

    For me he will always be the emblem of what might have been at Charlton.

    The most effective player we've had. As Curbs said, he played like 2 men.
