I've had the winner of the English and Irish nationals in recent weeks so for the hatrick attempt i'm on Vintage Clouds 14/1 in the Scottish version

Good luck with the hatrick Smokey. Can't say the Scottish version looks up to much. Am bunging a few quid ew on Sue Smith's other runner Blakemount @ 50/1. A decent 5th in the Midlands version at Uttoxeter in very soft ground. Presentings usually improve for a firmer surface so hoping he can show a bit of improvement on that run tomorrow over a couple less furlongs. Sceau Royal @ 8s in the big hurdle race too. Good luck all.

2.10 AYR- CLAN DES OBeaux- 3/1

Seemed like a very good thing this season but the season didn't go to plan- beaten a head by Whisper which looking back is some of the best form of the field then was comfortably beaten at sandown. Back on track when winning at Exeter. Is thr freshest horse in the race too skipping both festivals unlike his market rivals for who knows how much it is has taken out of them. This race seems to have been the plan and will take all the beating

3.20 AYR- MIXBOY- 8/1 pu at the festival but not before travelling like the the best horse just didn't get home the drop in back trip will help dramatically and on the form of his first 3 chases he is definitely over priced imo

I also like PEACE AND CO in the champion hurdle only run the 2 bad races Nicky has Been waiting to run him for som reason or another reports at home are good and is a lot lower than his last winning mark!

In the national like Smokey am on Vintage Clouds and Henri Pari Morgan who as long as he doesn't clout too many fences but they are softer round here, he is the best handicapped horse in the race based on last springs performances and looks like conditions in his favour and should stay! The jockey has. Great record in big long staying chases so all looks set for a big run !!

    Good luck to all <ok>

Keith Dalgleish does well with his NH string. 50% strike rate with his chasers. They either win or come nowhere though. According to the stats on the ATR website he's never had a chaser placed. No ew thievery angle with Mr Dalgleish.

    3:55 Ayr - Sugar Baron e/w

(Scottish National will do for my Saturday sporting punt. This one bred to stay and did well LTO to finish 6th in the Kim Muir considering he completely dropped himself out with a circuit to go, after being hampered 9th? However, trainer N.Henderson yet to win this so I understand? 20/1 atm with Bet365 and BoyleSports).

Surely you had Native River in the Welsh version too?

My money is on BATTLE OF SHILOH at 33's today.

    HAWK HIGH 2.45 AYR

Primed for this 'apparently'.... drying ground massively in his favour. Hasn't stayed when extended in trip the last twice though still nearly led between the last two in the Coral Cup. Handicapper has done him a huge favour dropping him to 135.

Last race at Thirsk is interesting to me (got a rare afternoon at home!), as we are seeing a massive field and an interesting pace angle. The angle here is that we have lots of pace drawn high and a draw bias favouring those drawn high.

We have the Scott Dixon pair who both go from the front and both have solid chances of running very well. Penny Dreadful is probably the pick of the pair and looks a fair price too.

However I really like Nuala Tagula who is top of the weights and likely to have further improvement in him for the Quinn yard. She races prominently and for me she has been crying out for an honest end to end gallop to chase.

The handicap mark looks very fair on last years Irish form and they've given her a few months off before her 4 year old turf season.

Vosne is in the 2:45 Champion Hurdle. Has to be worth a little go at 50s if this has been the target, even if the trainers plan for the build up didn't quite come off

Sticking with NH today, and my five to avoid are:

    13-40 I Just Know
    14-10 Clan Des Obeaux
    14-45 Winter Escape/Chesterfield
    15-20 Vaniteaux
    15-55 Southfield Royale

    Good luck all <ok>

Edit: That's actually 6 to avoid ..... I can't be deserting Chesterfield after the massive favour he did me at Aintree!

Maybe it did though, made some good late headway at Aintree, was a nice run plus gets in this CH off a really low weight.

Can't see how he beats Chesterfield mind you though
