    I'm inclined to think that he has painted himself into the corner and is now intent on pouring the residue in the tin over his head. Be nicely surprised if he is willing to play in a game before the window shuts.

    David Prutton's prediction.

    Southampton v Wolves, 7.45pm
    Southampton had to win the game twice against West Ham on Saturday, but it was a great result for them, especially after going for so long without scoring at home. Their run to the final last year proves they take this competition seriously, and they'll fancy their chances again.

    Wolves suffered a first defeat of the season at the weekend and, with promotion the priority, you imagine there will be a few changes made like by most teams. Home win for me.

    Anyone planning to come along to St Marys to see VVD, would be better advised to pop along to the local Waitrose as there's a far better chance of seeing him there.

    Could be an interesting game. Hard luck, Mauricio...this is one area you are likely to lose to Claude....unless you win the thing. I never fancy a slightly weakened Saints team against a decent lower league team.

    It's likely Wolves will be playing a weakened team as well.
    Which is the sad thing about this competition. Championship promotion chasers tend to see it as an inconvenience

    That's why I don't count chickens in the Cups...anything can happen. We have no idea how seriously Mauricio will take this...we could easily lose if he decides (as he probably will) to give some players a run out.
