So fresh from a tantalizing 0-0 draw with the Swans the Saints welcome the Irons to St Marys for what should / could prove the catalyst for the Saints kick starting their season with some much needed goals.

This game is also the start of a new and exciting chapter for our club. Mr Jisheng Gao and his daughter, Mrs Nelly Gao who will be welcomed with open arms (along with their open cheque book).

West Ham will be licking their wounds following a drubbing at Old Trafford but can expect no mercy from a menacing looking Saints team who are hungry for a win and goals.

Van Knob-head looks unlikely to return and the side split-tingly hilarious demand for a transfer request from Countinho is providing a welcome side show in the saga.

NEW - BONUS FACT

Southampton played a major role in the success of fish fingers. Clarence Birdseye tested herring sticks and cod sticks on shoppers in Southampton and South Wales. The Southampton customers loved the cod sticks, which then became known as fish fingers and rolled out across the country.

I think it's great we've agreed to play a charity game to help raise funds for the new centre for retired footballers.

 

Very disappointed in Jonny....he's actually trying to appeal to the masses now.

 

Yeah I'd have Lemina for JWP with Davis pushed more forward. One of he better features of our last game was that we were able to find little pockets of space between the lines and I think Davis would be more useful there than JWP as he is more nimble and creative player. Also I would try Boufal instead of Routledg..sorry, Redmond.

I think WHU will try to use Arnautovic's height advantage in his match up with Cedric, but as Arnautovic is **** it will probably be to no avail.

 

Think we could hurt Spam from set pieces though. Their defence looked fragile against (albeit superior side) Utd.

 

I'm going for a 0-0 battering

 

Arnautovic has about one unplayable game per season. Just hope it's not Saturday!

 

Please tell me Carroll is injured

 

A Carroll Groin Strain return September 11, 2017

 

I'm fairly certain at this point, that Carroll and Sturridge exist solely to play and score against us. They could be injured 363 days a year and the two days they're fit coincide with a game against Southampton. I will be shocked and delighted if Carroll is not in West Hams squad on Saturday.
