Interesting that it's a state owned bank. It would suggest they'll be looking to make profit first and foremost, but are unlikely to be folding any time soon.

The two stories aren't contradictory. The Reuters one suggests that there are buyers waiting in the wings who are willing to pay a valuation well in excess of what was previously mooted; the Echo story suggests no formal bid or negotiations have taken place, while confirming that there are other potential buyers lurking.

Both have the same underlying message: if Lander is serious, they have to act with haste (and put up the money). If not, Saints will move on to the other prospective owners.

QUOTE from the posts in the Daily Echo site : I think the next step in this story is the publication of the club's accounts for the last financial year, in a few weeks. These have been delayed since the autumn (and since the ground and all PL income this year were mortgaged to Macquarie Bank). Remember, the real sign that the game is up will be the declaration of a dividend payable to shareholders. [Skating on thin ice ]

Any thoughts on what this is intended to say?

Thank Goodness. That is a relief. I have always preferred annoying the arseholes who don't like me.

I know, I know, but some of us have still got terribly unrealistic and idealistic wishes and beliefs!

Ha. Nah I just see things as what will be will be. It's not like Kat isn't looking for buyers and one randomly bid for us.

She wants to sell up so it's the end of one journey and a start of another.

She will glean so much pleasure from Sunday's victory that she will not want to sell up.

TBH I don't think Kat has a strategy or ambition to take us forward. We have replaced well and done good business in recent years but look at how parchment thin our squad is. If the new owner wants to get a return they will have to put something in. Surely the only way to make profit is to push on. (Hoping and praying).

Edit: good links with China? Maybe we can sell our players when they're old for huge profit, rather than at or before their peak?

I think we have the strongest squad since we have returned to the PL tbh, so don't agree with that point. Reed has always talked about being self sustaining, so having some sort of investment would be good on top of that. Would rather Kat kept 20% or so of the club.

I'm not sure i understand why some people want Kat to stay. If she retains 15% or so she is hardly going to have a huge impact on the way it is run, the Chinese approach to business is built on reputation and trust so I can see why they would want her to stay for a while, like any business takeover where a portion of the exec management are retained for a year or sometime slightly longer, but she is hardly going to be a major influence and couldn't do much about something if she disagreed.

My belief is something will happen, late summer and too late for a further spree into the transfer window, so to expect another shot window, and have a slightly better season next time than we had this.

Again, not saying this season is a disaster either, before that Claps and Neggers start.
