It's all relative - we're getting £93.5m for finishing bottom. That'll be stripped down a lot for the coming season.
I smell bullshit. Are we expected to believe that the Sun or the Star or some other red top laughing stock have people leaking confidential board level financial figures from all those clubs 9 months before the info is publicly available? I don't buy it. It's made up bullshit. uninformed guestimates at best. They claim our wages have gone up. Hard to believe when you look at the big earners that have left and the players brought in. It's not even a good guestimate in my guestimation.
Pretty horrendous. I see no reason to doubt it what with all of the debt we're in based on inflated wages. To be honest I'm surprised to see us below Swansea.
If that table is correct, and I have my doubts. We are the 13th highest in the Premiership. Considering we have just done 10 straight years, I think that's about par for the course.
Mortifying that seven clubs supposedly paid less than us considering we were the worst club in the league by a distance. Our squad this year was dire, we need to start paying people what they're worth for me.
I'd say these are two separate issues. David Moyes assembled and managed that squad, I agree that it was dire. I honestly think it was more down to that knob head than anything else. The figure looks ridiculously high and I think that's why people become so erratic over it. The Premier league is the most expensive league in the world though, it's the place to be and you have to pay high wages to get even half decent players. I still think 13th highest spenders really isn't all that bad.
I maintained we'd never pay up to get rid of him and we didn't. I admit I never thought he'd walk and give up the compo but I said there was no way we'd cough up and I was right. According to the papers today we won't even cough up for our 1st choice manager.
Sad in a way when you look at them figures even if there are nearly accurate. How on earth can we justify that for the shower of sh*t we have on the pitch this season.....yet people off the pitch who have probably put bigger shifts in....get laid off....f*cking madness.....the game is in a sorry state today.....plus our club
900 pro games top flight plus international caps , The Independent says Giggs is set to prolong his playing career beyond the age of 40 by continuing next season but has worked through his UEFA Pro 'B' and 'A' Licences before turning his attention to the final coaching badge he needs to be a Premier League and Champions League boss, even before his days as a top-flight player are up. The Welshman has to complete 240 hours of study at the Football Association's St George's Park, and including three days at a European club, to gain the qualification. Giggs must also make a detailed case study of a business as part of his course and is expected to graduate in the next 12 months after a period at Warwick University's Business School. he knows the game inside out at top level
Our perennial search for a manager is as bad as this "general election/referendum every couple of years" bollocks we're enduring. Just pay Pearson what he wants and let him get on with the job. Life is just too ****ing short for this twattery...
Knowing the game inside out doesn't really cut it though, does it? We've no idea what his tactics will be, motivational skills, man management, eye for a good player etc. Usually in sport, the best players don't make the best coaches/managers.
Don't be pedantic Stu. Yeah he has his UEFA Licences so technically he is qualified, yada yada yada, yes, hillarious, super clever of you.
Can't wait to rip that wage bill up. It will at least half with nearly all the big earners moved on and any who stay getting 40% deductions. We'd get a team full of players at this level just for the combined wages of Defoe and Borini
