If it is indeed career ending that would be tragic, but I'd be surprised it hadn't been announced if it were so certain that we'd already been paid compensation.
Im more of a team fan than of what goes on behind the scenes. wont the FA pay insurance out on the player?
Career ending injury insurance is usually held by the player himself, I'm not aware of any club ever getting a transfer fee back due an injury, so it's probably rubbish. All the news released about Mason's injury has been positive so far, hopefully that remains the case.
Dean Ashton got career ending compensation from the FA, as his injury occurred while training for England. West Ham were going to bring their own action against the FA, but I'm not sure if they ever did (I can find no record of a compensation settlement), though this wasn't to cover a transfer fee anyway.
Hull Transfers @HullTransfers Ryan Mason's goal away at Stoke has made it into Sky Sport's top 10 goals in the League Cup this season.
There is unlikely to be any real news about Ryan, until the medics are sure of the outcome and any speculation is a waste of time.
It's one hell of a goal. Let's hope he's back on the pitch soon, he's a far better player than he's showed us so far and most people give him credit for. He wasn't a lucky inclusion in that Spurs side.
