Carter is the difference, that drop goal out of nowhere followed by his chip kick and tackle were superb...
Congratulations New Zealand, best team in the tournament by a long way, Wallabies gave it a proper go second half, final try was a little unfair on them. Interesting to see what kind of All Blacks we will see without the 5 or 6 world class players retiring now. I won't expect them to be second best though.
Deserved winners, just too much quality all over the pitch but a great rally by the Aussies made a great match of it...
New Zealand are the best team in the World and deserved their win. The Aussies are the 2nd best team and gave everything in that final, showing immense spirit and resolve.
Unless the All Blacks had suffered a lot of injuries during those games I think the result would have been the same.
Only 3 defeats in 4 years for the All Blacks in between World Cups.......deserved winners but credit to the Aussies for running them so close when they looked out of it after 45 minutes....... Wine o'clock.....
Clearly all the northern hemisphere nations are, ferocity at the breakdown being the biggest difference, followed by game plan discipline.
Congratulations to the New Zealand team, we showed some fighting spirit but the better team won. Well done to all.
Watching the RL Test, England v New Zealand. not a game I have seen much of from since the seventies. All Blacks fielding a weakened, inexperienced team due to injuries, are two tries up after 15 minutes, lots of big hits and much faster thinking. Sigh.
