Round Five is upon us, with the remaining 16 sides just one step away from the Quarter Finals.

    Lower League Watch.

Of the 20 sides below Championship level that made it to Round Three, just five remain; four from League One and Blue Square Premier side, Crawley Town, who are the first Non-League side to reach this stage since Kidderminster in 1994. They have been rewarded with a plum pay-day when they play Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Like Crawley, the Four League One sides all face Premier League opposition.
Leaders, Brighton, travel to Stoke City
    Notts County visit Manchester City
Sheffield Wednesday play Birmingham City at St Andrews, in our featured game
Leyton Orient, the only lower league side drawn at home, entertain Arsenal

    Focus on Birmingham City

The blues are looking to make it two trips to Wembley this season, having already reached the Carling Cup Final.

Birmingham have never lifted the famous old trophy, but have been runners up twice; in 1931 and 1956. Their most recent silverware came in 1995, when they did a league and cup double, of sorts, by winning Division Two (League One) and the Football League (now Johnson’s Paint) Trophy.

On 15 May 1956 Birmingham City FC gained the honour of being the first English side to play in European competition, when they visited Inter Milan in their first group game in the inaugural Inter Cities Fairs Cup.

Birminghan City’s cup run so far.

    Round THREE
    Millwall 1-4 BIRMINGHAM CITY

    Round FOUR
    BIRMINGHAM CITY 3-2 Coventry City

    Last Season.

Wins over Nottingham Forest, Everton and Derby County saw the blues reach the Quarter Finals, where they went down 2-0 to eventual finalists Portsmouth.

    Random Fact.

In 1888 [as Small Heath FC] they became the first football club to become a limited company.
