He was much cheaper than Lacazette and wanted to sign for us. As always we lacked ambition and plumbed for the easy option.

I'm getting a bit worried about the lack of movement on this.

Again we've stalled in the transfer market by trying to drive too hard a bargain.

Can't we just pay Metz the £7 Million they want and be done with it?

£7m though? ****ing no chance. I would have genuinely expected around 1/10th of that.

We should be happy to give him away and lose his wages off our wage bill

Another one that seems to take 10x longer than anyone else to get 'over the line'. Lee Ryder reported "Lazaar attracting interest from 4 clubs". He's been up for sale for 3 months, and only now four clubs are interested?! These dozy bastards need to get better agents.....unless, heaven forbid, Charnley has anything to do with things...

If you was any sane owner you'd have sacked Charnley for his inefficiency. The buys are the manager's 2nd/3rd/4th choices, the team's missing the vital parts it needed at the start of the summer and he can't sell a soul. Its set for relegation.
But I bet mikes sat on some beach sunning himself with sports direct shares as we speak.

This is the bit for me. Even with his utter disdain for the club, being a profitable and well-run one surely is of benefit? Charnley has been promoted more than anyone else in history for no other reason that Ashley seems to put up with him. Carr's leaving is one thing, but Charnley should be gone by now. Laughable that we've put the U-21 scout as Chief Scout. And not backfilled.

It's so badly run it would be hilarious - if it wasn't our club. The likes of Burton have a better structure. Yet Ashley aspires to be Southampton? Does he even listen to himself?

Its such a weird one because I always liked to excuse it with the fact Ashley surrounds himself with idiots who don't know football, or care little on how to correctly run a club.
That bullshit is running out fast, in a decade he hasn't learnt anything himself? Not one thing about this football club he owns. Christ hes should have even learnt something just from the annual game he attends.
Then there's the meeting of people? A man of Ashley's ilk has not met one guy who's said "not sure that's a sustainable way to run a football club mate" not one advisor even?
No, apparently ten years on and he's listening to Ashley ****ing Charnley, who has what experience and aptitude?
    None
Its all weird as ****. I get why the media loves us, any other club as ridiculous as this gets run into the ground eventually. Mike keeps the club on life support to have it roundly mocked. Maybe the sports direct advertising is working out THAT well for him
