If I may, my only observation is we have easily the best PR'd and impactful anti owner protest group of the five or six clubs that are owned by arseholes (Leeds, Blackpool, Blackburn etc). And that is because of the agitprop abilities of the CARD lot. I generally vote Tory but you have to say angry socialists make by far the most effective campaigners so I don't buy the socialist thing as being anything other than a force for getting things done. And it is a fact of life that people who are effective campaigners are driven by all sorts of other things - personal gain, ego and kudos being but two. Nice easy going ego free people simply don't thrive in these roles. I don't see why its worth getting so het up about them - the big picture is they are succeeding at least in a PR sense. One more point, Everitt is not CEO material but I've no doubt he is driven by the goal of a job back in the fold under a different regime. But as Varney can't be involved while at Ebbsfleet I don't see how he can affect that. So again what does it matter?

Good post Rocket but the bit "personal gain, ego and kudos being but two" did make me :emoticon-0136-giggl a bit.

My point about Rick Everitt is that he has never been elected by anybody.

My second point about Rick Everitt is that many Charlton fans, me included, despise Duchatelet whilst at the same time not wanting a return to the bad old days under Murray when favours were dispensed to a favoured few. Nor do we want Varney back, as he epitomised much of the above.
Don't forget that Varney was the No.1 culprit for our relegation from the Premier League - Les Reed was his choice.

I think Peter Storrie would make a good CEO for starters.

Not really looking beyond seeing Duchatalet going to be honest. Varney was supposed to be brokering a deal for another party. No guarantee that they would be better (or worse) but Varney is supposedly happy at Ebbsfleet. I mostly agree with oohpeaky. This isn't 'back to the Valley'. CARD should fold their tents if RD goes, and no favours should be asked. If Rick Everitt was looking for work at the Valley, that's his problem. A bit of honesty up front would be nice, but I'm not going to criticize the people who are doing something to change us for the better.

It looks like Rick Everitt is planning to coincide Saturday's Coventry protest - at which a bigger crowd than usual can be expected :emoticon-0136-giggl, with a revenue- busting new edition of VOTV promising further revelations about Thomas Driesen.

Never one to let accusations of opportunism stand in the way of those lovely 2 pound coins, Charlton's very own Pomagne Socialist is expected to dust off his CARD -megaphone for Saturday's demo.

Let's face it. He don't have style and he don't have the looks. Guess he's got to find other ways to get what he wants.

    A question for @ForestHillBilly

I don’t read VOTV, what with Andrex now bring on sale in the 99p shop.

I hear rumours that Rick Everitt revived the Aussie takeover fiction in this week’s Voice?

He mentioned briefly that the Aussie interest was still there, along with other interested parties. Tells us nothing really. I'm sure SuperC would tell us if anything significant happened.

Being charitable (not easy where Everitt is concerned), he massively over-egged it last season with his now infamous Tweet with white smoke coming out of a chimney. Others might accuse him of lying.

The only smoke now visible is from Rick’s pants being on fire.

    1. It would be brilliant news

    2. Wimbledon would be a 20,000 plus crowd

    3. No more freebies for the ITTV 6

all true, but is it likely to happen or is it just to sell more copies of his magazine?

We can’t lose either way. Everitt is claiming “multiple sources” this time, he is a busted flush now if it doesn’t happen.

Robinson must be putting his bicycle clips on - a manager sooooo associated (thru his own choice) with this hated regime.
