Why not just make Statutory Maternity Leave 20years and then you don't need to worry about Childcare.

Think you're confusing "statutory" with "compulsory"!

Oh and ID cards would be mandatory. How on earth are we going to make Minority Report happen without them?

The world should be come true Communism. Get rid of money and profit. Develop replicators a la Star Trek. Give them to people and let them live their lives. Free travel. Get rid of borders and religion. The world is a happier place. Theft and most crime will vanish. Utopia.

Should we call you Chairman Mag?

Fck that. People need to be controlled. Far too many feckless, lazy morons thinking they can do what they want. Look at the tree-hugging prats who think ID Cards are a bad thing. The only ones against it are the bloody criminals it's designed to target, smiling happily behind a bunch of socialist w@nkers.

The problem with this world is the infinite freedoms in it. Best way to sum it up is having a child is simply a basic human right, i.e. everyone and anyone can do it. Convicted paedophile? No worries, some daft bitch will spawn some children of your very own. Wife-beating rapist? No worries, there's definitely enough desperate women in the world for an Alpha Male like that, please be my guest and have some kids to beat. Drug abuser? Got Aids? Here, have Tinder.

And when all of these kids become helpless victims of broken people and broken homes, whose fault is it? The governments for not protecting them. It's utterly moronic.

There's a great story in Freakonomics. In a nutshell, the great crime drop in NYC under Mayor Juliani had fck all to do with zero tolerance and was actually because of a hooker in Texas. Long story short, this prostitute couldn't have abortion, it was illegal in most US States. She got accidentally pregnant for like the 6th time and took her case to the high court, citing it was detrimental to the child's welfare and she should have the right to an abortion. Many years later, won the case (1982), a load of States passed the law and approx. 16 years afterwards (1998) NYC introduced Zero Tolerance. Coincidentally at the exact same time a bunch of kids who WOULD have been born into poor lives simply weren't around. Crime dropped and continued dropping. Fascinating.

    Kill those twats.
Human rights has gone too far. Those that commit serious crimes should be wiped from the face of the earth. Kids roaming the streets committing crimes? Simple. Give the Police the powers to murder them.

I normally am not a big fan of politicians. Next to you lot, however, they look pretty good.

You really don't get the basic premise do you ? It's not the criminals you need to worry about. It's the police.

We don't have the presumption of innocence and all the rest because we give a **** about criminals. It's because we know what the police do when it's not there.

Exactly - cut prison numbers and the re-offending rate would drop through the floor - win/win to me!

Lol, reading this is like reading some kind of political manifesto written by Stalin and Dawkins... Have people really become so narrow minded that they simply desire to live in a place where everyone looks the same and thinks the same... It doesn't bother me at all if people want to display religious symbols...I think there are arguments against symbols related to salafism but that is of another matter.... If you start banning religious symbols where do you stop ??? I am a great believer that religion should be taught in schools simply because our world is becoming so monocultured/narrow minded about what it is to be a human that anything to get people thinking their one-dimensional viewpoint.....

I have had a theory since my teenage years that communism/socialism is inevitable - at least to a large degree at some undefined point in the future. As mechanisation, computers and robots slowly (or not so slowly) take jobs from people what will these people do? How will they pay their way in life? The state will need to support more and more people yet the wealth will be held by fewer and fewer people who get richer and richer. If the unemployed aren't looked after there will be social and political unrest and the result would be wealth held by the state in a communist structure. This is at a point in the future when machines do most of the work and technology can enable the state to know exactly what to produce for its citizens so you don't get what you would traditionally get with communism, ie over production in one area, underproduction in other areas and poor quality goods.

Or, will those whose jobs are taken by machines find other ways to earn a living? We are not far from losing taxi drivers, truck drivers, delivery drivers with driverless cars for a start.

Maybe, but I am not convinced it will be a socialist utopia.... I often wonder about technology, as it has yet to be properly tested under the Lindy effect. I am not entirely convinced that technology is here to stay as others are. Dont get me wrong, technology has leaped forward rapidly, but WEIRD countries rely on cheap consumerism/technological production from developing nations, to keep their technological boom in progress, as there any signs of resources becoming scarce, developing nations becoming richer etc technologies prices will go up leaps and bounds, we forget how resource demanding technology is to produce... I personally dont know what will happen in the future but am almost certain that dominance that WEIRD countries currently have on the world will fade....But then again what you described could well happen, but if it did surely that is a scary proposition...So much power for those who control the robots that run society ??? Hmmmm interesting....

Is that not also simply confusing correlation with causation. In complex systems it is almost impossible to tell causation ??

Completely tongue in cheek. I am taking the piss out of the far right. Don't condone the death penalty myself. Not really a deterrent. However with certain people, I.e.serial killers, rapists and child molesters you may not have much choice.

I had assumed it was...but now you have got me thinking <laugh>

Universal Basic Income ..is the way forward (and is being trialed in Finland and Ontario ..plus there was a large test done in the 70's in Manitoba too. Interesting to read about that last one)

Its not just the taxi drivers etc that are going to lose thier jobs in the next 10 years ..many middle class professions will likely go too. Computer algorithms are getting exponentially more sophisticated ...eg Doctors becoming like Airline pilots of today ..ie Basically there in an emergency only; the plane can fly itself etc etc

Not confusing, no, its application of economics but they do go on to say it is a likely factor, not a sole contributor. Mayor Juliani claimed it was entirely down to Zero Tolerance. If that was right, why wouldn't everyone, at least in the States, follow suit?

Nah, but I once spotted a right slut wearing a burka on a windy day in town. Her cape blew up and she was wearing 6 inch pink heels, proper sweet set of pins, didn't see her arse it wasn't windy enough, but she turned round and she knew I'd seen... from that day on, every Burka I see in town, I'm thinking 'kinky slut'.
