Liverpool fans leave the new Main Stand happy after their side won 4-1 against the Premier League champions champions Leicester City at Anfield.
Liverpool have reported record revenue - but a pre-tax loss of almost £20m - in its annual accounts for the year ending May 31 2016.

The Reds' overall revenue increased to £301.8m from £297.9m, as the club retained its place in the top 10 of the Deloitte Money League (ninth place).

But the figures show a significant drop on the £60m profit reported in last year's report, which was an anomaly borne from the £75m sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.

The previous year, ending May 31 2014, the Reds reported a £0.9m profit.

A number of factors contributed to the 2015/16 deficit.

someplace in there yes Though its not necessarally a loss if fsg gave loans to do it and pay back is against said loans. it should wash out really.

Not read through it mate, and can't be arsed tbh.

A £20m blow after player trading isn't a complete disaster, but given the size of your turnover is surprising tbh.

I've not bothered either cos its a pittance given that directly after we've done negative net spend and got a huge whack of tv money.

This time next year the accounts for 2017 will prob read massive profit and we will all be cheering but we will actually have lashed another 100mil on **** player sup against a wall so the FOLLOWING years will look ****.

    who cares basically.
