Leicester have parted company with their manager. Too little too late, being selfish I hope so but feel sorry for the guy.
Manager Claudio Ranieri has been sacked by Leicester City, nine months after leading them to the Premier League title. The Foxes are one point above the relegation zone with 13 matches left. "The board reluctantly feels that a change of leadership, while admittedly painful, is necessary in the club's greatest interest," said a statement. Ranieri, 65, guided the Foxes to the title despite them being rated 5,000-1 shots at the start of the campaign. The Foxes won the league by 10 points but have won just five league games so far this season, and could become the first defending champions to be relegated since 1938. They have lost their past five league matches and are the only side in the top four English divisions without a league goal in 2017. "His status as the most successful Leicester City manager of all time is without question," added the Foxes statement. "However, domestic results in the current campaign have placed the club's Premier League status under threat." Earlier this month, Leicester gave their "unwavering support" to the Italian. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39070927 Unbelievable Jeff
Unbelievable. Those players should be absolutely ashamed of themselves, I really hope they go down now.
Shocking but I understand why they sack him. If they kept him they would defo go down but now have a chance. Bad news for us.
Business over emotion. Seeing their game against Seville last night they were lucky to escape with the score they did. They had a bit more motivation in the second half but domestic performances brought it on.
They need to get McLaren in now to help us ! joking apart who will they get maybe Rafa . Karanka at Boro will be next, then Howe that is the way of football, it's the players just like here they just don't turn up enough.
That team has only lost one player, in Kante and everything else is the same. There's no way they should be where they are now just because of losing one player. They've not turned up all season and ought to be absolutely ashamed of themselves. He deserved a job for life after what he did last season.
So the Board Members who were patting him on the back have now stabbed him in the same place. A few months ago these same people were scrambling to get some of the reflected glory that Ranieri has somehow conjured up. Bet they are nowhere near as keen to want to take any of the blame.
Money. It's all about money. And fear. It's about fear as well. Both loom large at the bottom half of the league. I think it's an appalling decision.
Just looking at the Leicester board, seems to be a mixed bag. For and against. But this place can't be their main forum. The lack of interest in such a dramatic move is surprising. A bit like this place at the minute. Where the hell is everyone?
Just another showing of what football has become..... a ruthless business The bloke is a legend for what he achieved last season. Shocking by the Leicester owners in my opinion
Aye, all 'senior' players unhappy with Ranieri apparently ?! Bet the same 'senior' players aren't upset with their new mega bucks contracts they are now on?? Where is the loyalty......???? What a set of ****ers!!
