I had to go and make a coffee just so I could spray a mouthful all over my computer screen.

Gazza will turn up with a fishing rod, a 6 pack of 8 ace and some chicken and beg Rafa to stay. He won't be going anywhere :)

Just imagine if it did happen though. **** me it's the kind of thing that Ashley would do as well.

On a serious note, if Arsenal did come in for Rafa I think he would have to seriously consider it and that's a worry. Especially as arsene is doing a proper good job of getting himself out of the door.

Think Wenger will leave at end of season now. Of course Rafa would accept it if offered but I suspect they would go for someone younger.

I do believe that Joe Kinnear and Dennis Wise, both of whom know the club exceedingly well, are still available.

    What could possibly go wrong?

Simply by the way they reacted on twitter to the thought of Rafa it's clear he wouldn't be appreciated there at all (like at Chelsea). Is feeling adored enough to keep him here? Maybe not.

If he did go, the kind of names I'd be looking at would be Wagner, Tuchel (leaving Dortmund anyway apparently) & Marco Silva.

    Or Wenger.

I'd heard he's the favourite, although I've done no research.

    I think it's a really good opportunity for a top-class manager.
Champions League possibility and a half-decent squad to work with.

Am I the only person who thinks it was a good idea to sack Ranieri?

He'd lost the plot in my eyes, which isn't surprising considering all the accolades he's collected in the last few months.

Arsene has done a good job at Arsenal. Top 4, fans still rant at him demand him sacked.
Media praise Arsenal fans - agree with them
Klopp done a decent job at Liverpool let down by players recently. Including Sturridge who seems to be avoiding playing.
Liverpool fans rage and demand new manager to WIN THINGS - they're still top 5/6 though and scoring plenty
Media do not say a thing against Liverpool fans gloryhunting demands - on the contrary.
Newcastle under Pardew/McClaren perpetually bottom, **** football, dozy tactics - fans want change
Media slags them off constantly and spitefully, praise Pardew and McClaren, then ignore their later failures proving NUFC fans correct all along.
Its apparently "delusional" to expect the 3rd best attended club to be in top half of league

Yep, the media do have double standards. Their attitiude to us and the attitude to everyone else

No, Phil. That's not double standards. That'll be what they would describe as being consistent.

I'm not a great fan of raking-over old threads, but I still have major concerns about this.
Has anything been said about Rafa's transfer targets?
Has Rafa been promised the (alleged) 8 players he wants to bring in?
Arsenal will let Wenger go this summer and i'm seriously concerned that they will steal our Spaniard! <wah>

Arsene will be there next year. They'll give him a last hurrah - £100m+ funds and the idea that he throws off the shackles and buys some star quality. Arsenal are 3-4 stars from challenging from the title, I then think next year (after a £125m outlay on mostly youngsters) they'll finish 4th and win the league cup so Arsene can go in a trophy winning season.

Rafa will be here unless Ashley shafts him. I think Ashley is aware that Rafa is popular, better than who we'd get to replace him and will stay provided he gets the backing. Ashley doesn't want to get relegated again.

Can't see Rafa at Arsenal. Not of the required quality being brutal. They will be looking at the top managers in Europe.
