Dave Shipperly has sadly passed away. Only 64 as well. A true colossus in the Gill's defence.

So sad to hear this news - he was a nice guy - but a giant at centre back --- could do with his type of player in our current side.
R.I.P Dave - say hello to Gavin ( a friend of mine who died last week ) ---- January hasn't been kind to me over the last two years - I've lost several friends in the month.

    I've stickied this thread guys.

Dave Shipperly I remember from early years, when i used to stand on the old Town End terraces with Ron Hillyard between the sticks. Big Ship was a giant of a man, and although not athletic by today's standards, he played a man's game, long before cotton wool and pampering arrived on the pitch.

Sad to hear this news, RIP big man <peacedove>

I never like to hear of a former player going, especially ones younger than me, he was a great servant of the club in his time.

    RIP Dave
