The R’s are looking to snap a run of four defeats with manager Ian Holloway stating that his side need at least one victory to ensure the club doesn’t get involved in the relegation scrap. In contrast Sheffield Wednesday are currently in 6th place but will know that Fulham are hot on their heels in the battle to finish in the play-off positions. Both teams will know a victory could be have a major say in how their season ends. Carlos Carvahal has done an excellent job since taking charge of the Owls in June 2015. Last season they defied expectations and reached the play-off final only to be defeated by Hull City. This season they’ve been under slightly more pressure to perform but Wednesday have remained consistent and are on course for back to back play-off finishes which any of their fans would have taken at the start of the campaign. It’s the quality they have in defence that separates Carvahal’s side from many of the other teams in the Championship. Wednesday have conceded just 41 goals this season, which is the third best in the League. At the other end they always know they have a chance with the goalscoring abilities of Jordan Rhodes, Fernando Forestieri and Steven Fletcher. When the two teams met at Hillsborough back in October it was a tight affair in which the home side recorded a narrow 1-0 victory. Rangers will know they need to produce a much better performance than what we saw at Bristol City on Good Friday to have any chance of getting a result. Holloway was disgusted with what he called a ‘pathetic’ display at Ashton Gate and will want to see a reaction in front of the Loftus Road faithful. Wednesday have not been victorious in their last eight outings at Loftus Road and hopefully that record will be extended to nine by 5pm on Monday afternoon. please log in to view this image TEAM NEWS QPR: Grant Hall limped out of training on Thursday morning and is therefore a major doubt for this one. Jack Robinson could return to the 18 and Idrissa Sylla will be pushing for a recall to the starting eleven after netting his ninth goal of the season in Bristol. Jordan Cousins remains out. please log in to view this image Sheffield Wednesday: Predicted line up: Westwood, Hunt, Lees, Sasso, Pupil, Wallace, Jones, Bannan, Reach, Rhodes, Forestieri. Key Player: Barry Bannan - The heartbeat of Sheffield Wednesday’s midfield. The Scotsman has a lovely left foot and great engine in the middle of the park. PRE MATCH TALK: *Ian Holloway: “I’m sure we’ll be alright – I’ve been doing this for long enough now, we need one more win and it’s frustrating. We got to 50 points four games ago. We can’t just give up.” ( *Sounds ominous to me - Nines ) Carlos Carvalhal: “We expect a difficult game on Monday absolutely sure. But we will go there with a lot of fans and we'll be ready.” MATCH ODDS QPR win: 21/20 Draw: 12/5 Wolves: 5/6 QPR first goal scorer: Conor Washington 6/1 Sheffield Wednesday first goal scorer: Jordan Rhodes 9/2 LAST TIME OUT Sheffield Wednesday 1 - 0 QPR - Championship, 22nd October 2016 Sheffield Wednesday goal-scorer: Gary Hooper HEAD TO HEAD (In all competitions) QPR wins: 20 Draws: 16 Sheffield Wednesday wins: 29 MATCH OFFICIALS Referee: Andy Davies Assistant Referees: Dan Cook and Robert Hyde Fourth official: Dean Treleaven please log in to view this image Lilly From Ladbroke Grove '' Come On You R'sss! I also expect changes. But I really have no idea who. However, I expect Sylka to start. For those going, enjoy the match! COYR's!!!
We need a big one this afternoon, perhaps Gerry should turn up with his shooter, might gee the buggers up...
IF we win and Blackburn lose, we are mathematically safe. If we lose and Blackburn, Burton and Forest win, we are really in big trouble. Perhaps Ollie and Co. might wake up if the second scenario happens?
Another 5 changes today, with a bizarre looking team at that. It's becoming an embarrassment at the minute, god knows what the players must be thinking.
Just for balance given how crap we were on friday, would we really want the same team starting today? That said he really does seem to have used the random team generator today.
That is quite a mad XI. Would like to see Petrasso show something as he was dreadful in his brief chance at Villa.
The main reason we were crap (for me) is that Holloway keeps changing the team around. You can't expect to motivate and inspire players when they might be MOTM one weekend, to on the bench the next. Baffling if you ask me.
Christ we have to get off to a good start today otherwise I can see the crowd turning quickly. We'll probably win 4-0 now just to prove that football is mad.
I'm guessing that's a 4-4-2 with Mackie and Sylla up front, Petrasso and Freeman on the wings and Bidwell at centre-half. Bizarre.
