Incredible...that took James so much guts to do that. Well done QPRTrust and all the other clubs doing similar work. Football binds us all together, to some it is a life saving bond
This, for no other reason alone is why I love QPR. Excellent work and an example to other 'bigger' clubs. It brought a tear to my eye. U Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs!!
Just watched this on the BBC website and turned to my wife saying, 'this is why we are the finest football team the world has ever seen.'
Top man, that must have taken so much to sit in front of cameras and read that out. It really does restore your faith in people and I take my hat off to those professionals that make a difference to the lives of those like James. And applause for little ol' QPR for providing the opportunity.
When we feel like our club is going in the wrong direction.....it's well worth watching this and seeing the good we do.
Very proud to see this video 999's so thanks a lot for posting. Fair play to James for holding his nerve to read out his speech and fair play to all the staff in the club who helped him. Suicide has an awful impact on family especially but also on the friends left behind. I had a group of three 21 year old's in my taxi less than a week ago and they were all distraught that their friend committed suicide in his own bedroom two days previously. They had just visited the young lad's parents as they wanted to chat to the friends about why he may have done what he did. I have never donated before to the Trust but I will from now on. Brilliant work.
Very moving video, James has got a big set of balls to sit there and read that out, and has obviously come along way since his darkest hour. Well done to all involved at the Trust in helping him and others to overcome their demons and stand tall amongst their peers. We may be perceived as a basket case of a club, but I am proud to be a.QPR fan, and this only reinforces my viewpoint - who'd want to follow some glory-hunting moneybags team that doesn't spare a thought for it's fanbase and the local community?
Incredibly brave and inspiring stuff. Full credit to the Trust and the board for backing what they do, especially Amit who I know is particularly involved. I hope they all get to see this and appreciate how worthwhile the work they do in the community really is. COYRs
Just read it on the BBC website and came over to post it here. Strong, moving and powerful stuff. Very proud of my little old club. And to see what a difference the Trust makes is something special, well done to everyone involved, and well done to James. Heartwarming and it makes you still believe, there is so much good people out there making a difference. I will definitely make a donation.
