Elvis had the look, but Chuck, Jerry Lee, Buddy and Eddie were the heart and soul of Rock and Roll. Chuck, particularly was an influence on the rise of beat bands in the UK that insured Rock's legacy. RIP Chuck...
a true legend of music was chuck>>>>>>>RIP Sir .....slightly off topic on genre at mo, sorry for that
Right, i'm going to be a bit self indulgent, you know how you get those special years in your life that represent a happy time in your life more than others?. Well 1990 was one of those years for me and the whole country seemed to be optimistic, maybe it was the e's!. Thatcher's reign of terror was nearly over and there was anarchy on the streets with the Poll Tax riots (did you pay yours?, I never!) There was great stuff on TV, Twin Peaks, Northern Exposure, The Word, Harry Enfield, One Foot In The Grave, Drop The Dead Donkey and The Crystal Maze! Some great films too with Goodfellas,Dances With Wolves, Life is Sweet and Hidden Agenda. The music was great too with Acid House, Madchester, Creation and indie going on in the UK and some great bands in the US too. There seemed to be a real "summer of love" 60s vibe in the air and of course Italia '90 with Gazza and all that. Here is my soundtrack to that wonderful year. starting with the coolest footy song ever...
