Since his great spell on loan to us and then returned to Southampton I have noticed that he has played twice then has been left out of the squads all together since those two. Why don't they just accept our offer no matter what money we offer due to them paying wages for someone they clearly don't want but we do. Also I have seen on the SLP website Puncheon may have fallen out with the Southampton management and board, has anyone seen the SLP on the update from Kenny Jackett on Puncheon? Also with Bouzza signing I feel a deal for Punch may now be dead, what are your views?
Still think he could be added as the season is long and injuries/suspensions do happen. It's great if it's true about falling out with their management and just maybe it's because they are playing the stubborn arse'oles in what they want to accept for him? Wouldn't any of us be peeved if anyone stopped us playing higher/earning more?
Like you say, he doesn't want to be at Southampton but it appears that their Chairman ia a stubborn **** who is not prepared to let him have the move he wants. The worst thing he did was score that hat-trick for us. Bouazza's initial contract is only to the end of this season, so if that doesn't wotk out KJ coud still go for Puncheon during the Summer, unless another club gets him first. Puncheon might however have set his sights on joining us so will refuse to go anywhere else.
Hope he keeps pissing the club off and they will just be happy to get rid. You always hear about threats to leave players to rot in the reserves but who really has the money to waste doing that? Fairly sure they're not allowed to do that now either
ah ha Southwark news website, Jackett says Bouzza most likely last signing for January, but he has not ruled out a move for Puncheon in the summer. Kenny Jackett quote: Jackett says that he pounced for Bouazza because of a lack of progress in attempting to sign former loanee Puncheon from Southampton, though the Lions boss refused to admit defeat in trying to bring him back to the Den. "We'll keep our eye on Jason's situation," said Jackett. "At the moment, we haven't been able to match Southampton's valuation, which we respect. We couldn't wait because we needed players in now, so It's an opportunity for Hameur to come in. http://www.southwarknews.co.uk/home/millwall/00,news,22298,5227,00.htm
We now have Hamuer and Schofield for that position. So there is 'no' point signing Puncheon as well. Maybe in the summer if Hamuer doesn't perform.
Saw that Newcastle and then Blackpool got him on loan so we had no chance and probably won't if he does a good job there. Hindsight is 20:20 but IF only we had him for a bit longer on loan even I would be more upbeat as he was gelling in the side and maybe Hamur is ok, it will take time for him to get up to speed so could be games wasted while/if this happens. Shame the Saints' chairman is a greedy bugger and don't think we would have offered peanuts but the premiership will pay big money if Punch fits in so reckon they are looking for ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã900k + for him imho.
