I would start the season like this; Kasper Hernandez Huth Morgan Chilwell Amartey Mendy Drinkwater Mahrez----------Gray Vardy I think that's a very exciting and youthful side. I think Gray is going to have a stunning season. That allows us to bring Musa/Okazaki on for Hernandez/Amartey/Drinkwater/Mendy if we want to go back to a 4-4-2. I don't think Fuchs has done anything really deserving of being dropped, I just think he looks knackered at the minute. Chilwell has done brilliantly over preseason and with Hull as our first game I think we have a bit of room to judge our squad.
Gray is 19 and just joined us in Jan - that he even broke into the team is testament to his skill. Will he start ahead of Albrighton? No for me as like you said he is not there defensively and Albrighton's work with Fuchs was one of the many great things about our team last season. I would have King ahead of Amertey who is another kid that only joined us in Jan and played mostly as a RB. The Community Shield will show us how CR sees us playing this season - all of these friendly games is playing around with tactics and giving players game time. Remember that you learn more from losing then you do from victories.
Remember huth is banned for game 1. For me: Kasper Simpson Hernandez Morgan Fuchs (just) Mahrez drinkwater mendy (just) Albrighton (just) Okazaki Vardy Remember it is 'only' Hull - if that doesn't work maybe replace Okazaki with another cm
Totally forgot about Huth's suspension. I'd put Simpson at RB and would move Hernandez into the middle.
