Protests then?...what do you want?

Obviously there will be relevant groups discussing what, if any, form protests should take now we're apparently stuck with the owners and membership scheme until at least September (and in my view a lot longer)

But what do people on here think?

Personally I think a total boycott of the first game would be perfect. Opening game, Champions in town, Sky there to show the empty seats off perfectly. Nice message to send to the Yanks. However that's easy for me to say as I'm not a 'member' and I'm not sure who would do it, an ineffective boycott would be worse than not doing one

Red card protests were excellent. Nice and simple and well observed all round. But does it need freshening up?

Mass return of singing at 19.04?

Thousands of baseballs thrown into the pitch? (I think they're quite expensive though and not as easy to source as tennis balls)

Any thoughts, because it seems to me that this 'so near and yet so far' sale has galvanised even more City fans to want the owners to go

I've boycotted every single home game since the Hull Tigers campaign started. Not being a smug pious **** but if everyone else did the same the Allams would be long gone.


Yeah ok I am but it's still true.

 

I've also not gone since the 'bring you're passes back if you're not happy' time so I also can't protest in the ground.

But for those that can, how about American flags/banners/A4 cards to hold up during the game?

Might show the yanks we want them. But if not, it'd certainly piss the Allams off. Long gone are the days of fans wearing fez hats and declaring pharaoh power.

To be fair, this is a wholly half-hearted suggestion. I really am losing the will to even be arsed anymore.

 

Don't disagree, but clearly many haven't so how do you get them on board for something that really shows the strength of feeling (if there is one wider than boards like this?)

How about supporting the team ?

 

Boycotting home games "is the only way to support the lads on the pitch'. They know exactly whats going on and they know that if circumstances were different they'd get the backing they need. Unfortunately as I've said, there x number of thousand plastics who just don't get it and will be prematurely ejecualting about seeing Chelski and Mourinhos United at the KC. What better way to have a show of strength for the first 4 games, Leicester, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea by asking everyone not to attend. For me its no good being inside the stadium waving cards etc. Silence is deafening and Sky and MOTD will pick the story up and run with it. Away games is the time to make some noise and wear red or whatever, stars and stripes maybe.

 

Why not get the behind the manager and players ?
It might actually help them.

 

It doesn't mean that one person prepared to boycott is not fully behind the team. You obviously fall into the 'i just don't get it' category. This club is being killed, our club is being killed... Does that make sense to you. ?

We all want to be there supporting the team. Once the Allams are gone, we will be there supporting the team.

So how about you protesting against the Allams then that will help you get your (and our) wish?

I think if it's about winning it was clearly shown at Wembley, so I hear, that the number of fans isn't relative to the result
I think there is a bigger issue at play than winning a specific game, but you know that I'm sure

How does not contributing to the paying of players and managers salaries constitute supporting the team? By all means protest if you have to - red cards or whatever will get you on TV. The ground will be full for the first game of the season so those of you choosing not to go are just cutting off your noses to spite your faces.

 

We don't need to pay their salaries, that's why we are irrelevant

 

Mass boycott, nice idea but as already said there are going to be thousands who will go to support / watch the team no matter what.

Many of those most likely to protest in the ground are already boycotting.

Those two things limit the options available, but the red card thing did OK. No need to join any club, group, trust or organisation. Nothing to pay just take the card and hold it up at the same time as everyone else. A good first step and there is also a chance that some of those will see that making a protest is not the end of the world, feel a sense of unity and become more willing to get involved in further additional steps.
