The Horns still have a very outside mathematical chance , need to beat Cov tomorrow though or we have 7 games to blood more youngsters ready for next season!
He's a great pundit. That dry character, a football version of Jack Dee and he has his heart in the right place. Its a shame hes not as good a footie manager as he thinks he is.
Thing is Aberdeen he was a good manager whilst he had someone like Burkinshaw to whisper in his ear, things turned to ratshit when he thought he could it himself!
Yes Norway our success in my mind was Burkinshaw driven with a contribution from Aidys charisma. Rodgers was Malky driven with luck as a contribution. Malky is Malky driven with an infusion of GT. I know which of the recent management teams I prefer.....
Oh come on Aberdeen - Rodgers was down to him and he is doing it again at Swansea - you can question his integrity but not his results - but he still has a lot to prove - but so has Malky
You could also question his style! Success is nice, but give me success a la GT over success a la BR anyday. The goalposts are at either end of the pitch and that's where the ball should be going - not constantly sideways in the style of BR/Wilkins/Chelsea of old!
Still prefer MM to BR though Leo , Bet BR couldnt have done with watfords resources ,what MM has managed!! WFC dont have BR`s phone bill to the special one to pay anymore!
No argument from me Norway / Bolton. I actually dont mind the ball being passed around a bit - so long as it goes forward when it can - but BR replaced Hoofball which for me was great. GT is a Mega-god and it is unfair to compare anyone with him. I would rather now have Malky than Brendan, prefer his style, he is learning all the time and he managed with all the carp that came with near Administration.
I only credit br with an ability to listen and change which aidy hasnt got. He screwed up at reading but learned from the mistake. Things went stale at watford at a point but turned round again when he listened to malky imho. No question he still has decent contacts and is a better manager now than 2 years ago, but comparing to Malky who seems to learn at great pace, is humble enough to admit to asking for advice when needed and is able to mix up tactics better than the other two, Malky comes out top by a clear margin.
Well time will tell - I think BR and Malky will both do well. Malky does listen and learns fast but BR turned Tamas into a ã1.7m profit for us and that was no mean achievement. Also BR seems like someone who is desperate to win - a good quality. We will see how they fare in the next year or two - I expect both to do well
promotion is it likely for us ? NO not now andnot for the next few years ,infact we will do well to manage to retain championship status!
That's a bit gloomy Norway - if you go back 18 months and were told our financial state and who we would have to sell during that period you would have said the same or worse -but thanks to the Academy and Malky we have prospered. It wont get any easier but so long as Baz is not the total buffoon I fear he might be then we shoud be able to at least stay where we are.
