Had Newcastle down for another win but also had Huddersfield, Norwich and Sheff Wednesday down for wins too. My accumulator may of taken a battering but I'll take those teams losing ground on us!
Hard earned points today off a team who have some decent scalps this season. 100% record for October so here's hoping no complacency sets in.
Never stick high odds in an accumulator, Norwich clearly a gamble after their recent form and Brighton being on a run atm. Hibs playing bottom place St Mirren was always going to be a banker, and Arsenal beating Sunderland was nailed on. My accumulator ballsed up when Newport (bottom of league 2) decided that today was a good time to win their first game of the season! Anyway, today was the kind of game I like, hard fought victory away at in form team, close finish keeps us on our toes and reminds Rafa and co that it isn't plain sailing yet. Great result for us against a decent team, unfortunately Brighton are on fire right now so still only 3 points clear, but a nice gap developing between us and 3rd place.
Referee has apologised to North End for not giving us the penalty at the end, so that's all right then
Think we proved we are slightly better than Tuesday night personal view thought we should have got something from the game but that's the way it goes, see you in April when we will score our first goal at your place since 1979
Not a bad ground for the championship. You lads were loud when you sang but it wasn't very often. Cracking day out although we were hanging on in injury time.
After the results you have had lately, I am very pleased to come away from your place with three points. All Tuesday proved was that we had a deeper squad. Today was always going to be different. I didn't see the game, just listened on the radio, so I can't comment on the penalty. I know it had the Newcastle radio commentators worried for a bit though. Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season
If that was where Beckford went down in the box, then to my eyes, I couldn't see any contact at all. The camera didn't show us enough info IMO. Your view on it? And did the ref really apologise, or did he offer to apologise if he is shown to have got it wrong? Finally, will he apologise for finding a full 10 minutes of injury time? That's about five minutes too long, if my contact is fair. I wish PNE all the breaks after this week. They gave us a massively hard game today, and of course, it could have gone the other way if you'd had a bit more luck
Great result. Their form has been good. Others are faltering and we now have an opportunity to really put the hammer down
Fed up of having to eject chavvy ****s with incorrect tickets from our seats at away games (this week's tit was 2 rows and 8 seats out but insisted he was allowed to sit where he wanted). The prick told me I had no right to be in 'my' seat anyway as my accent wasn't 'proper Geordie'. His face when I told him neither did he as he sounded like a Mackem was priceless.... These little bell ends are starting to become an awsy day annoyance now.
Teesside Mackem is the man for cock pics....he has posted two in the past day aimed at monty <or so he says>
Brighton looking good but they have a tricky away game at Bristol City next whilst we're at home at Cardiff. Norwich and Huddersfield playing Birmingham and Leeds. A good chance to put a bit more distance between us and the chasing pack.
