Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but there is a Premier league world special on this evening at 6.30 on Sky Sports 1. It is a special episode focusing on "The Southampton Way". Examining why we have been successful at academy level and beyond. Worth a watch!
There is a later showing on this evening at 22.30. Very interesting programme. Not much new information but was good to hear individual insight and opinion.
Or you could have watched absolutely any day, any second, here: http://sportsworld.nbcsports.com/pl-download-the-southampton-way/ I think it's on Youtube as well. I downloaded it from the above link yonks ago. Is it an updated programme or something.?
Just caught up with it...a lot we had seen before, but you can never get enough coverage of Southampton. I always find these programmes settle the nerves....its too easy to forget that there is a plan. Nothing can be perfect when you deal with human beings and life throws you curve balls, but the infrastructure is there. It is fortunate that the club has steady heads and not panicky fans in charge. Fans think short term....one game at a time. The club think long term...there will be other seasons and other competitions, but the important thing is to stick to the values that got us here. Good to see that we are trying to provide the new girls teams with the same facilities and values as the boys side. Start right....aim for the PL and European competitions, but do it right.
This thread eluded me earlier, I watched the programme and was quite impressed, mentioned it on the Echo site and got slated for being sychophantic and believing what I was being told, this by a poster that hadn't seen it at all! Sums up the current breed of certain so called fans.
