Let's all do a bit of pointless speculating about what'll happen next season. Questions:

    1. Where will Leeds come?
    2. Who will make up the top six? (Promoted playoff team in bold)
    3. Which three teams will get relegated?
    4. Who will be the biggest spenders?
    5. Who will the surprise package be?
    6. Who will the surprise flop be?

    1. 6th
    2. Reading, Leicester, Hull, Southampton, Forest, Leeds
    3. Doncaster, Barnsley, Coventry
    4. Leicester
    5. Derby - not sure why but I can see them going on a really good run.
    6. Brighton - everyone seems to be expecting promotion from them just because they stormed League One. Can see them finishing mid-table. Also see Burnley flopping into the lower reaches of the table.

You reckon Southampton will go straight up? If the league is going to be SO much harder next year I can't see that happening.

As for Leicester up automatically? They might spend big but probably wrongly, no character and massive bottlers, don't think they'll make it.

I don't agree that it will be much harder. West Ham will need to sell big time and their squad won't exactly be gelled, Birmingham's boys are leaving on Bosmans in their droves and once Blackpool lose Adam and Campbell, they'll be pretty toothless as far as I can tell. Southampton seem to be very similar to Norwich and I rate Nigel Adkins as a top, top manager. Their points per game ratio under him is better than Poyet's at Brighton plus they have more money to spend and seem to be doing so wisely.

They played some lovely stuff at times last season, they just need a couple of wise heads in their team in the same way us and Hull do and they'll be laughing. Unlike us, however, they have the means to pay for leaders and Sven's a big pull for many players. Middlesborough made a hash of their money spooging last season because they bought SPL rejects. Southampton, Leicester and Hull won't make the same mistakes, all of them have European scouting networks I think.

Anyway, it's all just mindless speculation at this point, bugger all's been done transfer wise yet other than Mr Monty Gimpel. What are your premature predictions?

    1. 9th
    2. Birmingham, Cardiff, Leicester, Middlesborough, Forest, West Ham
    3. Doncaster, Brighton, Palace
    4. Leicester
    5. Southampton or Middlesborough
    6. Leeds - LAck of investment and the other teams will figure us out this time round ie Becchio's work rate, Snodgrass's wingplay, Gradel's pace. Teams wont no how to deal with Somma and Nunez, so these guys need playing a lot more

I think we should wait until we see the various squads around early August then we will be able to form a picture or at least I will at the moment Southampton with Atkins appeals to me just as Norwich did last season.Leeds IT will all depend on our acquistions .I think SWchmichel will leave only 12 months left on his contract and Snodgrass KB loves money we the supporters are irrelevant in his eyes apart from parting with our MONEY

Yeah I agree you can't judge it fairly until all the signings have been made, just something to do while we're all stewing before the season starts.
