What I meant was some people, you included, can't grasp the reason why we have pre-season. It's not about winning at any cost, it's about getting some mileage in the legs and teaching the team the way the new HC wants to play. Don't get me wrong, it's pleasing to win, but far more important to teach the players just how DF wants them to perform, a comment from Michael Baily during the match yesterday was, the formation has changed from the first half, we've gone 3 at the back with the same personel from the first half and we are playing much better in that formation! In other words, our HC has a plan B. The last manager we had who had a plan B was Paul Lambert!! It's not lost on me that Lambert played in Germany and took his coaching badges in Germany. Let the good times roll!

Sorry Cromer - I didn't see your post, so have so posted a link to the 'vitalfootball' article on 'General Football.
No worries - at least you didn't start blathering on about Tennis, or cricket, or any other summer sports Having said that, 4-1-4-1 sounds like a pretty decent bowling analysis...
Zimmerman sounds like a good find, we appear to have signed a young giant German robot defender. played every minute of every game thus far.
Talking of which - looks like being a very interesting last 2 days up at Royal Birkdale. Spieth overcame some horrendous conditions yesterday, but there are a few Brits in contention!!!!
Good news about Wes and more importantly, Pinto Hopefully means nothing more than a watching brief for Russ Martin http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/...5117900?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=dlvr.it
I see Zimmerman has collected 2 MotM awards for his exploits in Germany. Can ANYONE remember the last time a CB got such an award???? COULD we possibly have the CB we've all been wanting for at least the last 5 seasons??? Early days I know, but things could be looking up.
If Zimmerman can step up from the 4th(?) tier of German football to be a top Championship defender then I'd be seriously impressed, but I'm not expecting it. It'd be a serious bonus though!
Going to a music thing with Mrs G, so sadly missing out on this one. Know where to find you for the next home game, my round!
More praise for Zimmerman from today's offering on MFW - "Almost unnoticed at the heart of all that I’ve described are two German centre-backs who, whisper it, are starting to look really solid. Yes, there was a mistake from Zimmerman that led to the goal conceded, but it was a rare blemish in a pre-season that has seen him play every minute of every game. And for someone who arrived as probably third ir fourth choice centre-back he’s looked very much the part." Once again, Gary highlights what many fans will be saying - "At least half a dozen individuals, just in my vicinity of the River End alone, are guaranteed to go apoplectic with rage as soon as they set eyes on our new centre-backs patiently playing the ball neatly, accurately and methodically to one another. And woe betide them if they even think about laying it wide to the full-back and then prepare to take the return pass." Can you imagine if Bassong was still here and playing that game???? http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...man-mini-tour-was-as-good-as-pre-season-gets/
Thanks for that DD!!! Nothing changes - CJ misses a couple of sitters and Basil shows how it should be done.
Watching those two misses by Jerome makes me think maybe we should sell CJ to a perceived fellow promotion challenger like Middlesbrough. Strengthens our hand - and weaken their goals for column considerably!!
A tailor-made role for Klinnsman - hell's teeth, you can't get him into this football club quickly enough!
