brb match view and prediction: Gills faultered in there auto push, by only taking a point at home against Morecambe, however with the exception of the Shrews, all the other promotion candidates are stumbling across that finishing line as well. Has to be win, win in these two games but by my predictions we have a problem...

Frustrating or what....the last two home games have been testing. It is hard to play against teams that turn up with only a point in their game plan!! Ho hum at least the stats tell the truth. Good effort guys.
Right......Barnet have to be put to the sword!! end of. My predictor (weeks old now) goes for a 3-0 win. Cody 2 Bayo 1. I'd like a few more to boost our goal difference to take us clear of the 'pretenders' in the play off race.

Rotherham....Predictor says 1-1 Cody 1 Le Fondre 1 (A hard fought 0-0 will do just as well!)

2 main worries at the moment:

we are very close to not getting in the playoffs
home form and in particular scoring goals at home!

although teams do generally come to try and defend I think we should have enough quality to break them down more often that we have done this season!!

anyway i think/hope we will beat barnet 3-1 Cody, x3
and I also think we can bea Rotherham 1-2 Cody and Barcham

squeaky bum time!!

 

I thought morcombe could have proved difficult. But after two disappointing home draws I'm optimistic we will make a breakthrough and push on from that

Recent away form:- won 2, drawn 1, lost 3, not the pushover their league position suggests.

Goals scored in their last 6 away matches = 7, goals conceded = 7, clearly a team who play it tight (just the sort we struggle with)

since the beginning of January they have taken points off Crewe, Chesterfield, Shrewsbury, Port Vale, Rotherham, all top half teams.

Lawrie Sanchez has just Joined to help them avoid the drop (he's a expert on relegation survival)

We need to start calmly and avoid giving them a 1 goal head start.

IMO, I think we may have more trouble with Barnet - they will be very focussed on trying to survive. Our away form is improving and so I think we'll have a better win over Rotherham. Its all getting very tense, I am not sure if my nerves can take another play-off final - I'm still getting over the last one! If (and its a big 'if') we make it - pls pls pls let's not get Shrewsbury - they will SO want revenge.

Very good response this week, with still another 48hrs to go before the Barnet match - bought my tickets Tuesday (Medway Stand).

Currently 21 predictions posted (15 league members), still waiting on some of the normal late posters.

The prediction group has now increased to 22 members (19 original BBC606 members & 3 not606 guests), all will get an automatic place in next season's prediction league - there are still invites outstanding acceptance, also if there are any posters that take part in these threads (including other club fans), I can send you an invite if you wish to join (obviously subject to my discretion, to avoid wums).

Pre Match thread formats are trial and error at the moment, as I get use to the not606 formats they offer, which are better and easier to use in that sense then BBC606.

Once again as I always say, these pre match threads, prediction league, group would all be for nothing without your input - suggestions to make it more interesting always welcome
