As we all know, that doesn't mean he will play for us, he could be another where he is loaned out each year and the Pozzo's make money from the loan fee.
Busy summer once more transfer wise if you go by the players we have been linked with! Or just ship out on loan..
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/15123936.Colombian_defender_confirms_Watford_transfer/ To join at the end of the season - and then be loaned out?
Nice how they point out who he is in the foto. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...26081.First_Watford_summer_signing_confirmed/ "Segura will be unlikely to spend next season at Vicarage Road, however, as he would struggle to justify the work permit he would need to play in England, due to his relative inexperience within the game."
New goalkeeper? Be quite a name and probably expect to be first choice. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp....Hornets_linked_with_Portugal_keeper/?ref=rss
Do think we need to be looking at a long-term replacement for Gomes. He is 36 now, and started picking up a few injuries - would Gomes accept being 2nd choice if we brought him in? Would personally prefer us to look at home grown, considering foreign-player spots are at a premium. I rate Westwood at Sheff Weds as probably the best keeper outside the Prem. Pickford looks good but imagine there are bigger teams looking at him (although may not get starts for them) Wouldn't surprise me if this is just agent talk to raise interest in his client... or push his club to offer a new contract!
I wonder if we will try to get a young British back up goalkeeper? Cannot rely on Gilmartin to be the home grown goalie!
I reckon Gomes has a few seasons left in him yet, IF we do get a new keeper he might be hard to top for now. WOuld make a great keeper to have on the bench in a coupe of seasons. Gomes has been ever present in the league unless I am mistaken....
Maybe in a season or so he can replace Britos.... Colombian sports journalist Santiago Aristizábal Pino told the Watford Observer that the defender, who only made his debut for Envigado last March, had already become the club's brightest prospect. He said: "He is tall, very strong and has a good aerial presence. He is also technically very able. Segura has the nickname 'Porto' ['Port' in English]. He is a left-footed centre back. He's already a very good player, and is the most impressive young talent at Envigado."
http://www.hertfordshiremercury.co....urn-to-italy/story-30206450-detail/story.html Not the usual sort of transfer rumour - but one that has the potential to please many...
Behrami off back to Switzerland - http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...176597.Behrami__has_meetings__over_Sion_move/ Patrik Schick coming in - http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...7022.Hornets_reportedly_eyeing_Czech_starlet/
9 in 6???? Take him, take him, .............................. Sadly with the others in the hunt I'm not holding my breath. But maybe Pozzos' contacts can be persuasive.
So who will translate for Walter!? Be nice to get some players who actually do play for us (and stay fit!)
Seems like Valon might well be off. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...Sion_owner_confirms_Behrami_interest/?ref=rss Probably do need younger legs in that midfield but at least he gets stuck in.
I suspect Watson will be off too, unless WM suddenly realises his value - which will leave us somewhat short. What we need is a modern-day Duncan Welbourne...
Think Behrami is underrated as he does the donkey work in midfield. It´d be a shame to see him go, but might force the club to find a younger replacement...
The Strange Saga of Juanfran continues. I really thought we had sold him two years ago... https://www.clubcall.com/watford/watford-defender-wanted-in-turkey-1846599.html
