Congratulations, well done Pompey. It's 46 games, you didn't win it today any more than we lost it today: we lost it with a few bad results at home against teams we should have beaten. You are there on the last day and that's all that counts. Look forward to playing you next season. Onward and upward, Pompey and Argyle.
And rightly so. Our GD was the difference we so deserve to be champions. Class will out, bad luck Donny and Plymouth we are the best!!
CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I so wish I could be at Fratton Park on the pitch right now!
Amazing end to the day........massive congratulations to all at FP - oh how I wanted a ticket. It's amazing to join the select group who have won every division in their history....I say it not to gloat but it is a wonderful piece to add to our history. This is a tougher division than many believe - I for one underestimated it on season 1. Commiserations to Argyle and Donny - but there is no question the 3 best teams in the division have gone up so see you in League 1. I was also quietly pleased that Newport County stayed up - a family connection as to why I wanted them to survive. Campione Campione Oh le oh le oh le.
Well what can I say. The only time you hit the top is on the day it counts. I said earlier in this thread that being third at the start and it would be sods law. To be honest I didn't expect Doncaster to lose even if I wasn't convinced totally we would win. Well done you have your nap hand of trophies now so you can shut the feck up about it for another 20 years. Congrats.
Aww... bless the blue few, getting all giddy about winning the league in the basement... a division we haven't been in for well over half a century Sorry lads, feel like I've been too nice on here the past couple of months... Was genuinely pleased you got promoted, but forgive me for not passing compliments on for this one Bring on the next derby... ya dirty skate tossers
sensible. Well that was amazing end to the season. Nail biting stuff at Fratton Park, until we heard the other results ! Can't wait for next season to renew rivalries with Argyle, as we both march up the Division One table
Just got in - voice almost hoarse from shouting - what a day........what a win........what a lovely warm happy feeling. We didn't just beat Cheltenham, we absolutely mullered them !! Pal of mine shook hands with Michael Eisner before the game, as he left the Shepherds Crook pub, where he had been mixing with the fans. Great atmosphere at full time when all the fans ran onto the pitch, and the players came into the director's box. PUP
